Accelerator cable sticking.

Some people may remember that I transferred ownership of my campervan to my sister Maureen.
She tells me that the gas pedal sticks sometimes and I think it will be a bit of rust on the inner Bowden cable.
Is it possible to lubricate it in any way or must it be replaced?

Re: Tailgate door seal

Just out of interest, why do you get a price match from VWH & why don't you just buy from Brickwerks? Reminds me of the story of the two grocers shops opposite each other on the high street. During a bread strike, a customer in one shop asked for a large loaf. The grocer asked him for £1.00. &q...

FUEL CONSUMPTION FIGURES

It occurred to me that, even though I am fairly quick and accurate at mental arithmetic, I could not visualise in my head how "Miles per Gallon" (I know, we buy our fuel in litres these days :rofl )translated into the Johnny Foreigner equivalent of "Litres per 100Km". So I looked...

Re: Towing a small van (on an A frame) on a T25

On consulting page 141 of the VW T25/T3 instruction manual, the maximum permitted trailer weight for your 2.1 petrol van (unless it's a Syncro) is 1500 kg. (Syncro would be 2000 kg) Looking at Fiat Scudo specs the unladen weight of your Scudo is 1661 kg minimum . Without carrying anything to sell, f...

Re: Window rubber seals

I got mine from A.H. Schofield along with some other stuff. They are a good fit and they give 80-90 club members a discount. (Details on the members discount page ^^^.)

Re: compressor fridges

The items made by these people seem to be quite efficient. A chap I know has one on his narrow boat and swears by it. There are sizes to fit campervans and when my full resto is at the new interior stage I will be buying one, probably a fridge freezer. Don't be put off by the accent on marine applic...

Re: help taps

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. In the end I replaced the whole tap, it was easier. If you can't find a tap to match the other, change them both. If there is a plumber reading this thread, you may get better advice however.
Good luck with it though. :ok

Re: new car paint protection package- worth it?

You are buying a car costing between 30 and 50 grand and you are worried about a 400 quid optional extra?
You're havin' a laugh mate!

Re: Need some help in Wigton

You may get a better response from a powerboat forum perhaps. I would not have a clue about boat engines, not that I live in Wigton.
Good luck with it anyway :ok

Re: NON VW = repainting the inside of a refrigerated van

I drove reefers for quite a few years and never saw one that had been painted inside the load area. They were all fibreglass gell coat for hygene reasons. Paint may easily flake off and get into the food being carried which is obviously undesirable. (Incidentally, Nic Beeee, I often used to deliver ...

Re: Blowing exhaust - suggestions, please?

http://www.jpexhausts.co.uk/product.asp?id=81 I had to replace the exhaust system on my own van 5 years ago and I took it to the company in the link. I would recommend them to anyone (Campershack were unknown to me at that time. ) The exhaust system is guaranteed for life and has never given me any...

Are you talking about dash cams or web cams? You could have a web cam in your vehicle to skype to somebody who wants to see where you are going I suppose.

Re: CONVERTING AUTOMATIC TO MANUAL GEARBOX 2.1 DJ

Thank you, Andrew, most sincerely. The auto box is indeed now fitted and the van has gone for its MoT test.

More anon. My fingers and certain other bits are crossed in anticipation.
