Radius Rod Removal... 3 questions

hi guys, My radius rod bushes are knackered and the MOT man has said they need doing if I want to roll for another 12 months! Had a look yesterday and had 2 questions... 1 - my rod appears to be threaded at the hub end and screws directly into the hub... most of the pics online show one that bolts o...

Re: Gearbox oil leak - selector shaft

OK Well leak seems to be sorted, originally I had bought the non OEM seal from brickworks which is a standard type Ellring oil seal, however it is quite a different design to the OEM blue one which I bought subsequently and seems to seal much more effectively. When I bought it I didn't notice the OE...

Gearbox oil leak - selector shaft

Hi All I recently had to remove the gearbox to do a clutch change along with release arm and associated components. While the box was out I gave it a good clean and changed all the seals - input shaft seal, drive hub seals and selector shaft seal. When i first put it back it leaked from the bell hou...

Re: clutch won't disengage...

well... thanks to everyone for their replies!! Just to post an update once the box was pulled, i found more than a few issues!!! 1) - The release arm wasnt bent or broken, but it was worn almost completely away on the surfaces that bears against the release bearing. Both the 'lobes' were long gone! ...

Re: clutch won't disengage...

Ah OK... I had wondered this.

So if the spigot is worn it means the input shaft is still turning with engine yes?

However clutch bite got lower and lower over the years, could this still be a spigot bearing issue?

Thanks everyone!!

Re: Getting stuck in second and reverse - gearbox or linkage?

Right - sorted, it appears to be the nylon ball on the rear linkage and wear in the bush at the back of the linkage

If you push the 'cup' up and the ball down it slides in and out of gear no probs!

Hopefully this will sort it!!

ill confirm when ive done it!

Ahem I have just realised I titled this thread incorrectly and put that it was stuck in first and reverse... not second and reverse

apologies everyone, I am a class one donut

What 'coupling' are you referring to?

to be clear this issue is with reverse and 2nd.
