Re: Westfalia - no gas supply to leisure system
I've been in contact with Gasure. Unfortunately, this is not something they can deal with. It seems this needs to be done by a specialist who can remove and dispose of the tank, in situ. I've phoned a few places but they all seem to only deal with install and maintenance. UKLPG seems to have few reg...

Re: Westfalia - no gas supply to leisure system
Ok, Thanks for your reply LeeME3 but this has gone to worse missing out bad! I topped up the LPG today after my original post, still no supply to the cooker. Went to check the valve on the undercarriage, had a little feel around regulator and started to hear a hissing sound. Then a smell of gas and ...

Westfalia - no gas supply to leisure system
Hello, Our 85 Westy leisure system has decided to stop supplying gas to the cooker and fridge. Does anyone know why this might happen all of a sudden? The engine runs on LPG too, the gas supply to it works fine. The leisure tank fills up whilst filling main tank and the main tank is full but there s...

Re: 4th gear lockup
Hi, Checked ball & socket - intact, although rubber shroud has gone. Just done a scrape for gear box code found two numbers 091 301 103 D on side of transmission housing and 091 301 107 C on underside of clutch housing. Does anyone know if these numbers will assist with sourcing a correct recon ...

Re: 4th gear lockup
Hi, I've had similar problem. Got stuck in 3rd (had been sticky prior), managed to free wheel and get moving in 3rd, then popped out to neutral but could only use 1st & 2nd, drove back slowly toward home (10miles), a mile away from home and it seized up completely. I know nothing about motors. S...

Re: improve swivel to captain seats
Took the swivel system apart, all the little nylon type spacers are in place and don't seem overly worn. Applied grease, tried losening the nylon bolts a 1/4 turn but still quite stiff when rotating. It looks like the bottom spacers might be the problem as the swivel plate sits on the spacers and th...

Re: heater
I'm doing this as we speak.......
Can't get heater control panel off......what's the knack? I've the lever handle off. The facia is proving the bug, seems tight top right and bottom left. I imagine it a little push clip like other facias!!
Thanks

Re: Rear seat belt from Gunzl
You'll need a panel trim to let the belt throught the back panel! £2.40 or so from brickworks (order more stuff as the stings on the delivery cost)

Re: Roofboxes for westfalia space above the cab
Don't know if you're still interested but I found these Peli boxes. The gowesty one is basically a gun box, which peli manufacture similar. The link shows the box that I thought was just right , offering a little more depth than a gun box. It would be fairly straight forward to get a folded steel ba...

improve swivel to captain seats
85 vanagon, with original swivel base to front seats. When I first got the van I did as much of an overhall, clean up and grease up as I could, but struggled to improve the swivel action on the seats. I took the mechanisim apart, tried grease (no good), the best improvement came from silicone spray ...
