resistor is inside the heater box with the fan, so yep still a dash out job!

just done my heater motor... it have never worked. When i took it out it was seized solid. Fitted a replacement heater motor from Brickwerks... sorted that but it was only working on the 3rd setting. Turns out the resistor was also kaput (common fault over the VW range) so ordered a new one from Vw ...

I'm hoping one of you lot may be able to help, just fitted my AEF engine and have two wires for the oil pressure. My old 1.7 had a wire to the end of the block and one onto my oil pump, however my new engine doesn't have a fitting on my oil pump. What should I be doing with this wire / What did you ...

Cheers for the offer there. I've actually just fitted a 1.9 AEF (very similar to a 1Y I beleive). Anyhow I've got it all in and running, just have had to replace the clutch slave cylinder which hopefully should be done this afternoon. I'd be interested to know what gearbox you've put in and what box...

I'm glad I've seen this thread! Got a very tired and oil consuming 1.7D myself and have been trying to figure out which conversion to do. Everyone says AAZ, but as you stated its a bit of a pain having to collect so many other parts from a donor JX engine. If you have any pictures of the conversion ...
