Handbrake cable part deux

Do i need to remove the fuel tank to change the handbrake cable?

both ends are loose but i cannot get the cable to pass through the top of the fuel tank

Woo hoo the handbrake just broke in two wouldnt mind so much but i live on a hill Local manufactures have just shut for the weekend, does anybody know where id be able to get hold of a handbrake cable on a sunday in the devon area? can get one monday but vans currently wedged up against my wall chee...

i was led to believe, that a good upgrade for the vacuum advance distributor. Would be a centrifugal advance one ( from jk ) meaning i could do away with the vac unit and the ignition module.

is this wrong? ifso, i'm glad i asked first

mine is totally fuberd.

the question is....

DO i just replace the vacuum unit or upgrade? to a dizzy with a centrafugal advance?

engines a 1.9 dg btw
