Re: New Ignition Coil - still poor running
Thanks aj, I'll probably have the hoses & filters sorted on vans next visit to the garage, maybe when MOT due... But we got to Somerset & back this weekend, our van drove great, just a scare when the temp light started flashing but that was the sensor on the coolant bottle dislodging again.....

Re: New Ignition Coil - still poor running
Many thanks for the advice and sorry for not updating...I got a bit fed up with my van & thought about getting rid...Catch 22, tricky selling a van with problems, get them fixed & you want to keep it!! I looked at some T4 & T5 campers but don't like them as much, so decided to stick with...

New Ignition Coil - still poor running
I replaced plugs, distributor & had carb looked at to try and sort poor running, van drove OK to start with but poor running returned followed by breakdown :( RAC diagnosed bad coil so I fit a new one, again van drove nicely then poor running & stalling returned...I'm wondering what the prob...

Re: Windscreen Pump - now blowing the fuse - FIXED
Update:
Thanks for the advice, got the wiper jets working now without blowing fuses..
I wondered if it was bad earths or blocked hoses/jets but I think it was bad contact with the two connectors to the pump. I put on a new contact & wrapped both with some insulation tape & it's working now.

Re: Temp Light Flashing - Replace Relay 42 - FIXED?!
Yep, Thanks David, I hadn't realised where you meant when I first read through the responses....I cleaned various connections then found the sensor connection wasn't great, I fiddled with it to get a better connection which seemed to make the difference! I'm glad it turned out to be an easy fix beca...

Re: Temp Light Flashing - Replace Relay 42 - FIXED?!
Ah yes, I spotted some relays higher up above the earth crown this afternoon..
Luckily the temp light problem seems sorted now, I think it might have been the packard connector on the top of the coolant tank, I plan to fit a new to get a better connection.

Re: Windscreen Pump - fitting the hose problem
Any idea why I'm blowing fuse 10 when I pull the screenwash lever? Doesn't blow when I use the wipers... I took the washer tank down again & connected the hose (I couldn't get the hose attached to the pump so I used a short piece of wider hose on the pump). I pulled the washer lever & I coul...

Windscreen Pump - now blowing the fuse- NOW FIXED
How you can stretch the windscreen water hose to fit onto a new pump? I tried last week, in cold weather which didn't help...I tried soaking the hose in hot water to soften it then attaching but the hose instantly hardens. Then tried with a hot air blower, got it partially attached & put the pum...

Re: Temp Light Flashing - Replace Relay 42 - FIXED?!
I had a fiddle about this afternoon, I cleaned some contacts including one the black box, checked the wires around the thermostat & tidied them up, noticed the connector to the top of the expansion tank wasn't firmly attached to tried to get this to connect better. Started up the van & after...

Re: Temp Light Flashing - Replace Relay 42
Thanks Mocki, the temp gauge goes to max temp & stays there. I'll have a look at the thermostat ports, you mean external wires? I'll check connections... I had the engine replaced as old one had poor compression, the replacement engine was younger, garage probably used some parts from old engine...

Re: Auto Electrician needed
Thanks Oldiebut goodie, I did find the earth wire detatched at the bottom of the column and thought I'd cracked it! But having reconnected it the horn still didn't work. I bought a new horn & new button but still nothing, so to get it through the MOT my garage put a new horn button on the dash, ...

Re: Temp Light Flashing - Replace Relay 42
Thanks for the advice... Yes temp light flashes & gauge goes to max straight away and stays there, not due to overheating...Had a coolant leak, got corroded pipe replaced (shiny pipe shown on photo below), temp light started flashing after this & I've checked coolant levels since, garage rec...

Temp Light Flashing - Replace Relay 42 - FIXED?!
I've been reading the long thread on Coolant temperature gauge - flashing red light+needle swing, but I'm lost!
Relay 42 is mentioned, if I replace Relay 42 in my T25 might that stop the temp light flashing and showing maximum temperature?
Worth a go?
