Re: Battery draining

CovKid wrote:Oldiebut Goodie has given you the answer. Could be anything. You'll need to do the above test. Small meter is cheap enough. You don;t need to be an auto electrician to do that test.

Thanks Cov Kid. We're not all as clever as you mate. T

Re: Battery draining

Thanks for your replies. Probably didn't phrase my post too well. I'm well past becoming an auto spark OG. Just wondered if there were common components that could cause this so I can give auto electrician a likely place to start looking. It's had a new DAB/stereo fitted professionally so not likely...

Battery draining

Hi For ages I've had a problem with the battery draining. If I don't run it for more than 4 days the battery won't start it. Battery has been tested and is fairly new anyway. Alternator is delivering good voltage. I've put fully charged battery in van and run the engine then left it with battery dis...

Wipe /wash switch part number

Hi Folks. My above switch disintegrated some time back and was replaced with a spare that the mechanic had in stock. Unfortunately it only controls the front wipe/wash but not the rear screen wipe wash. I now want to replace it with one that does both. Two suppliers (Cool air and vw heritage)offer s...

Re: Drive away awnings

Karen/Gertie, Which particular base second model did you get? I have got a bit confused about all the variations having spent hours ont webnet. And on top of that all this talk about speed of erections and willies and two balls has got me quite hot, bothered and flusterated!!

Re: Drive away awnings

:D :D 8) Thanks for the very useful replies. Interesting to hear that people have multiple awning solutions. I came across some stuff on the forum for T4/T5 owners that suggests they have similar debates (http://www.vwt4forum.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). We have ...

Thanks Rob I already did that , just wondered if anyone had more up to date advice or if opinions had changed, longer use of products might have revealed defects etc. Thanks.

Drive away awnings

Can I pick brains of people who use these drive-away awnings. Pros/cons, type and suppliers? We dont want to add half a ton of canvas but a kind of add-on tent/shed would be useful for the snorer. :D

Re: t25 1.9 petrol cutting out

Ignition coil on its way out gives same symptoms. Faulty coil overheats and doesn't deliver enough juice to the spark plugs. In my case it used to start running raggy after about 30-40 miles, stalling when idling and then just not starting. After waiting about half an hour the coil has cooled off an...

Re: Keeping Warm

My old mate Greg, sadly demised, did a 'roots' trip back to Trinidad. On the local radio the news guy reported the death of a Trinidadian who was having problems getting to work on time. He rigged a timer to deliver an electric shock to his bed frame. The reporter said: "And in the morning him ...
