any tips gratefully recieved.

Re: Overheating above 40mph (1.6 Diesel)

latest update on overheating bus Coolant been drained and refilled , mechanic noticed that the cap on the main coolant reservoir had a perished washer ( the bit below the spring on the cap ) which in turn was interfering with the pressurised cooling system. Renewed cap , everything seems to be fine ...

Coolants

Hi all Does anybody know of coolant types / brands that are suitable for t25 diesel water cooled engine , needs rust inhibitor. VW heritage do one at about £8.99 a litre which seems a bit pricey considering one needs about 7 litres of the stuff to make up 50/50 mix for the 15 litre system. Cheers

Re: over heating

No its not the thermostat , tested and workin fine. Tried K Seal to seal up any cracks in cylinder head \ gasket , still over heats.
So , it could still be cylinder head \ gasket , or, it could be something else that i'm unaware of.

Any thoughts out there.

Cheers

over heating

Hi all Just travelled 1600 miles ( Pyrenees and back ) and on the final day van started overheating , kept topping up as water was evaporating every 15 kms . Checked in header tank and it seems like the water is not circulating , which would explain the overheating. French mechanic seemed to think i...

Heater blower

Hi all
Cab heater was working fine then , stopped working , seems like heater is still going, but fan/blower stopped.
Later fan started working but is making funny noise like something causing blockage or something.
Any thoughts , hopefully don't have to remove whole dashboard etc.
