Thanks Tony, I will have a good look later when I get home. However the wife is in it during the day so I am guiding her on how to jump it from the leisure battery (it is a standard car battery, but thanks for good advice) by phone each time she has to start it. I checked the proper procedure for ju...

Battery not charging - Help!

After 15 months trouble free, our '86 1.9dg has suddenly decided not to charge it's battery. Having to jump it off the leisure battery at the moment, starts and runs fine off the leisure battery but doesn't seem to be putting any charge into the main battery. Any suggestions peeps?? (nothing too tec...

Thanks Kev,

Only just checked the post, obviously didn't get to BVF, but thanks for the offer.
I've taken the easy option of a tank in the rear wardrobe, undergoing 'the change' in two weeks .... can't wait, and looking forward to some nice cheap long trips

Next question - What lpg tank in a Autosleeper Trident

Anyone had a Autosleeper Trident (1986 with double bed in hi-top) converted to lpg? What tank fits? I have just measured up and seems that the under seat 70 litre tank wont go in as the seat is not far enough forward of the engine bay bulkhead. Next best option would be a 65 litre 'spare wheel' tank...

LPG and insurance

Considering an lpg conversion. Has anyone had any problems with insurance and the dredded 'has the vehicle been modified in any way' question?
Would not be doing it myself, so the conversion would be certified.

Also does the engine need more 'looking after' with a conversion on it?

Thanks everyone. Think I'll just risk it, and carry a bottle of mixed coolant with me this weekend to top up as it needs it. Heater works fine, temp guage sits bang in the middle of the scale, so it's not looking like overheating at the minute. last time I topped it up we were away in it and I used ...

does that involve a full drain down (which reading Haynes/Wiki resource sounds a bit daunting as we are away in the van this Friday)?

It's a 1.9 DG petrol.
As you look at it from the back it is the pipe that enters the right hand side cylinder bank, presubably it is either the flow or return for the right hand water jacket( it enters on a tight 'elbow'

Wow! thanks for the quick responses.
I've had a look under the lid in the boot and there is no sign of anything coming out of the joints around the expansion tank. The only place i could see anything was towards the right hand side where the coolant pipe goes into the engine block.

HELP - Water leak

evening all. Got a '86 autosleeper with a minor water leak somewhere very central above the exhaust. Trouble is we're away this weekend and the guy that does my servicing is away. Someone suggested using a bottle of K-Seal (an updated version of Radweld), which should sort out the problem. Anyone go...
