Re: Viking roof spares and repaires help
As above, I used sgs for new struts on our viking. Not sure if it was here or on brickyard but somebody had a new viking canvas made in I think Kingswood Bristol for quite reasonable money.

Re: 1.8 20v Turbo in my Syncro - Pictures
Thanks! Inlet is part 1.8T from the Passat donor, part 16v and part Cupra I believe. Lots of welding! Yeh I half answered my own question last night when I found one of my bookmarked sites on thesamba from a chap that did the same a few years go. He has been well happy with it and has just clocked ...

Like what you have done there. Is the inlet manifold off the 2.0 16v.

So at least it passed but a couple of jobs before next MOT.
For your gear linkage, did you have a look at the fb TDI page.

Re: AFN TDI + DHL A4 Box Conversion complete!
I note your comment ref the drive shaft angles which never looks right, however collectively there have now been thousands of miles covered with this setup.
Just tried the TDI club but it seems to be down tonight for maintenance.
Good luck with MOT.

Re: AFN TDI + DHL A4 Box Conversion complete!
Cheers for the offer to help with electronics - I may be glad of that sometime. For your gear shifter - have a look on FB T3 TDI group, a post started by a Jon Evans on 23/07 has had several people share their ideas and is deffo worth a read. As for the GTI, it works well and is a huge improvement o...

Re: AFN TDI + DHL A4 Box Conversion complete!
Your clocks look very much OEM from a distance in the dark ! The electronics side of things does interest me so may need to contact you sometime if I decide to have a play. For the gearshift 'willowreilly' over on brickyard has done what I think you are on about. So currently have you managed to ada...

Re: AFN TDI + DHL A4 Box Conversion complete!
A good interesting write up Dave. You are obviously into your electronics to be able to sort the golf clocks out to operate, and that does give the dash a nice modern look about it.
What did you do for your gear shift in the end and any chance of a couple of pics.
Cheers.

Re: Fitting a ABF golf engine
Good choice of engine there Neil and it fits perfect with no need to raise the deck on yours. I was originally looking at this upright option using the FAS plate from Mario at MV Engineering but had all the diesel bits and the AGG came along at the right price and goes under the lid. However the 1.8...

Am in the midst of putting the 8v AGG in mine but always interested to learn about what others are doing and their results.

Re: Fitting a ABF golf engine
Have there not been a few comments from several that the torque curve from the 8v is better suited to our vans as it kicks in earlier than from the 16v. Would like to learn more about this if anyone has any direct experience/knowledge.

Re: 1.9TDi conversion...why so costly?
And don't forget the all important upgrade on your standard gearbox if you want to get the best from your TDI - budget for another 1500 - 2000 depending on what you have done.
