My hightop is a 1981 but I guess that the bunks would be pretty similar. The extra board is just a piece of 25mm plyboard with a small strip of wood either end to prevent it slipping off the rails. It has a 2inch thick mattress of foam which is cloth covered. Its about 2ft wide but not exactly sure ...
