thanks all
I have a basic cheep and very tarnished one in my tool box, I was thinking of a digital one for the sake of my eyes. I have to go to Screwfix soon so will probably get one there, thou reviews are mixed.

Vernier gauge
Can anyone recommend a decent digital vernier gauge, they seem to range from a few pounds to hundreds. Screwfix and RS have some for around £20. not looking for ultra high precision just reliable and useable.
Thanks

Re: Hightop roof rack
For future reference for anyone it is a Paddy Hopkirk rack, and measures 645mm from gutter feet to under side of the cross bar

Re: Hightop roof rack
Hi
I use one that came off our old works 2006 med roof Tra***t, the one with the gutter 300mm or so below the roof top. It just clears, although my Karisma roof is not as high as some. I think its a Paddy Hopkirk rack, I will look in the morning as it is hanging in the shed.

Re: Mechanic In North London
I read here you should use red antifreeze and always have done, something about the engine studs rusting through. I'm sure someone will elaborate

Re: Rear hub castellated nut
If you look on the Norbar website there is a calulator, this allows you to use a normal lower range torque wrench with an extension bar. I got a length of inch 1/2 pipe flatened one end and drilled and filed a square hole in it for the wrench, put a large adjustable in the other and with the help of...

Re: Propex underneath?
I saw the same heaters and was told the under floor ones were not for retail sale, you can only buy the version that stands on edge

Re: clonk clonk
I have the same trouble [see earlier post ]I have stripped it down the cv and am pretty certain that is the cause.Ordered a new set from Brick Werks on Sunday and got them on Tuesday, fast service. One problem though, in the kit is a chamfered washer there wasn't one in the old cv. Thought it might ...

Re: wood effect laminate/vinyl for interior units SOLVED
Hi All, my plan to remove the hammerite paint from my interior units is only half working! comes off some surface ok, on others it's trickier to remove and the scraping damages the wood effect plastic laminate underneath. Ideally I'd like to keep the good sections and cover the not so good with mat...

Re: camping at the pub
We spent bank holiday Sunday and Monday at the Royal Oak Hurdlow [Buxton]. Crowded but cleared somewhat on Monday, seems very popular as its at the end of the Tissington trail and I would take the bikes if I went again. The food in the pub is very good with decent portions, best to book a table as ma...
