Re: Bad Rust problem

Thanks, guess if I cut a decent size hole I can patch under floor then floor on top?. Is it the C pillar the rear panels spot weld to? Is it easy enough to patch the bottom of these or do I need to look for a replacement section? Sorry for all newbie questions

Bad Rust problem

I have just taken the interior out of my 1983 converted panel van to find a few real worrying areas of rust. 1. http://i1219.photobucket.com/albums/dd431/smithyz/IMAG0057.jpg The whole of that indented part is like crumbly paper, The outside wing is in a similar state and the window frame is bubly a...

Re: Panel adhesive

Of course if there is anyone on the site in the Southampton area with welding knowledge who is prepared to have a look then It wouldn't be the worst thing to happen in my life if they got in touch :-)

Re: Panel adhesive

I'll consider the aston lol. For the sceptics on here , the wings on the Eurofighter are bonded with similar stuff to this so it is proven to be stronger than welding in certain situations.

Re: Panel adhesive

I may do one side to see how good it is then decide whether to redo it and weld. Depends on what horrors I uncover when I remove the arch but it doesn't look bad, just seam rot over the arch.

Panel adhesive

Has anyone used Panel adhesive as an alternative to welding? What were the results ? Is it a good enough permanent fix eliminating the need for welding totally on rear wheel arches? I do appreciate the preperation of the surfaces would be the same i.e good clean metal , not rusty brown crap . Is it ...

Cable type when fitting a leisure battery

I'm looking to fit a leisure battery behinf the drivers seat. What cable size and rating is needed to connect it in a split chargeing system?. Is it ok to mount it so far from the other battery and alternator. Dont want to use wrong cable and have it melt on me.

Re: heater fan doesnt work ??

On mine (which still has no heater fan function as I've yet to get the time to take out the dash) If you turn on the heater ir blows the fuse. The fuse also runs the windscreen wipers so you can see when it has gone. Or rather can't see if it is chucking it down lol. Genius bit of electrical design ...
