Re: The United Nations JT3000 Caravelle

Hi Ash, My set up is as the standard UK Cologne powered Capri was with an airbox and panel filter with ducting. This is still not ideal even over here where its always cold in comparison to your weather! Mine is actually positioned so it is picking up air from the top of the exhaust ( :? ) so ...

Re: The United Nations JT3000 Caravelle

Looks great! Nice one for sharing these photos. The exhaust set up is very similar to mine apart from the addition of the balance pipe. How loud is it?....mine could do with being quieter. Dont suppose you've got any closer shots of the engine mount set up? Esp where they bolt to the chassis...

Re: Anyone know much about JT3000 Caravelle's?

Would be great to see some more photos of the conversion. Good luck with the drive back, I wouldnt expect too much regarding MPG, but it depends what you are used to. Esp if you get carried away with all that power!!?? ;-)

Re: Anyone know much about JT3000 Caravelle's?

Nice van, very interested in this conversion myself. I seem to remember rumours about the vans being available like this from new. But expect it was something more like dissapointed owners taking there nearly new vans, which were still under VW warranty, to JT who could offer the engine upgrade with...

Regarding replacement options do you mind me asking what you would suggest to replace metal pipes, bearing in mind the VW plastic ones are hard to come by/expensive? Any cheap robust solutions? Also does anyone know how the pressure thing relates to a T3 engine compartment? ie the best way of using ...

All looks good....can I ask where the mounts are from for your pump and filter there - are they straight from Subaru?

Also as far as rubber mounted pumps go is it purely a noise deadening excercise or are there more important considerations related to earthing etc?

Hi Torque Starter - fix to starting problems

Just thought I would share this info as I have recently read a few posts about starting problems. I have suffered poor starting on both the T3s I have owned, the first being a standard DG engine and the current having been converted to F*rd V6 power. The main reason for both being that the st...

Sounds like a good plan for the exhaust. Pete the guy with the other Cossie engined vans are both along those lines and are about right on volume I would say. Mine just booms and is unpleasant after a while! Not really sure on the water pumping issue. I know mine runs a standard pump in standard con...

The exhaust on mine is very poor. A big mistake really. There would be nothing you would want to copy relating to it really, though if I can get some photos over the weekend I will. It is basically the original F*rd cast siamese manifolds running down into the engine bay where there are just two of ...
