Re: All Terrain Tyres
with an old stock engine I wouldn't be changing tyre sizes, but if you fit a more modern more powerful one then you have room for manoeuvre; the original tyre size and gearing was the best available compromise, the 0.82 fifth gear a little conservative but that was how VW could get the old engines t...

Re: All Terrain Tyres
Had the Cooper, and they were totally rubbish. What did you find bad about the Coopers, I am after some AT tyres for my 2wd. I had this on my shortlist because they come in 205 70 r15. On paper they look good for me because they have rain grooves running around them, so presumably a bit more road f...

Re: More Fuel Pipe Issues.
If the supplier is really reputable they will hold their hands up so you should name them as there may be others who have bought from them in the belief what they were buying was the high quality they wanted and they should be aware there may be an issue, the Syncro boys and girls especially have a ...

Re: Radiator fan only working on low speed.3pin plug

Re: Temperature gauge
a multimeter can be had for very little money off Ebay (other online shops are available) and there are many youtube videos that will explain the basics of how to use it - for the purpose of vehicle electrics you basically 1. check continuity, ie that there is a connection from A to B and that there...

Re: Identifying / replacing sliding windows
yes that's not how factory window seal works, factory one on a caravelle fits over the inner lip and fills the space out to the outer skin surface so that's a very odd way of doing it, means the seal isn't fitted into the shell just glued in place David, the Prof, has a Trakka and he may have had bo...

Re: Temperature gauge
could be a sender, wiring or a module issue, there was a problem noted with a version of the board that plus onto the back of the gauge where the soldered wire pads were physically too close, use a meter to measure the resistance of the sender cold and hot and compare with the readings at the dash b...

Re: Left hand drive sliding door latch
what's the problem with yours ? Pops onto 2nd stage latch going around corners ? They often spread due to misalignment of the door (the body changes shape over time due to corrosion and flex) and especially the latch riding the pin on the body to lift up and lock in correct position Solution can be ...
