AFN acceleration woes
Evening folks. Long shot I know, but has anyone had any acceleration issues with AFN converted vans? Mine is getting to around 3k revs, loses power and then gradually picks up again. I've swapped the Maf/Map sensors, N75 and checked all turbo pipe work, but can find nowt wrong (no fault codes either...

AFN cambelt cover
Evening.
I'm in the middle of an AFN conversion and my top cambelt cover doesn't have a bolt or retainer. This is causing the inner dust plates to rub the pulleys and I was wondering if any AFN converts could tell me what is meant to be in there?
Thanks
Jon

Re: LDA setup
Or, could i ask somebody with a known/untouched LDA to count how many threads they have showing either end of the adjustment rod?
Thanks in advance

Has the fuel pump been checked? Try running a pipe from a fuel can straight to the fuel inlet to see if it makes any difference (safely of course). Good luck!

Re: AHU air leak from pump?
Sounds like internal pump failure, although, have you checked the banjo bolt washers and anything serviceable?

LDA setup
Evening beauts!
I'm attempting to make 1 good fuel pump out of 2 spares for my JX and was wondering if anyone knew if the LDA needs any pre-load on it, or do you just set the stop where it sits?
Cheers

Re: JX noisy top end
Thanks for all the replies folks! Gasket is definitely fitted correctly (had the Top/Oben mark) and is identical to the old one. I'll try finding an oil pressure gauge before the weekend and check what it's got up top. I'm starting to think that there may be a bit of swarf or old gasket blocking a g...

Re: JX noisy top end
To be honest, it did cross my mind! It definitely went back together correctly, but i think the only option is to take the head off again and re re check. Don't fancy being stranded on the way to Camperjam

Re: JX noisy top end
Cheers Elvis. I tried knocking it back and even tried another pump in case it was that, but no joy. I need to pick your brains about GTD pump too if you don't mind?

JX noisy top end
Evening, Looking for any JX guru's able to cast an opinion. Did a de-coke and new head gasket on my van and re-assembled as VW intended, but i have drastically noisy tappets since. I have shimmed them all to within 0.20-0.30 in & 0.40 - 0.50 Ex (hot), but it still sounds like a bolloxed old fies...

Can't say i have fitted a brand new one, but i have had noticeable power differences between second hand pumps at the same 1mm lift.
