Borrow a charger, charge up battery,
Start van and drive it back during daylight, stop somewhere where there is electric and charge battery again,
Diesels don't use much electric once running, especially if not using lights,
Get home then sort out!

Re: Engine Suddenley Stopped
Exactly right because of the lower calorific value of lpg it takes a fair bit of power to ignite it, this tends to load the coil because its working so much harder to ignite the lpg, cheap coil start to warm up and in any electrical circuit the hotter the unit the bigger the resistance, and because...

Hi all, Anyone got opinions on the best product to paint a new fuel tank with? It's a Brickwerks tank and comes in primer so just wondering what to use for the top coat? Many thanks folks :) Well I used rustoelium on mine, 2 coats, But I may paint over the underneath with barcoat and then stonechip...

Why would you want to remove the studs, are they corroded?
You need a stud extractor, much heat!

Re: vw t25 running problem
Well it could be anything, And without being there and witnessing the symptoms we would be plainly guessing, It could be the Coil Plugs A bad ignition circuit Blocked fuel filter Worn points if it has them, or dodgy ECU, Dodgy fuel, Overheating Faulty sensor keeping the choke on, Charging fault, Int...

Re: Advice needed on tappet problem - new engine?
Hello New to these forums, would appreciate some advice about our engine. We've got a H-reg 1.9l petrol T25 (autosleeper) with about 75,000 miles on the clock. Was running pretty well. Last weekend on a drive back from the coast, we started to get intermittant loss of power. Eventually, after about...

Re: Clutch slave cylinder pipe.
I plan on using a m12 x 1 male brake union, a short bit of Kunifer, bracketed off the clutch brace and, Brake hose with femail m10 x 1 mm both ends that's 350mm long, then Kunifer for the rest,

Re: 1981 T25 engine blew up! Advice needed.
I would have thought on an air cooled engine, white smoke would indicate copious amounts of fuel getting into the combustion chamber, blue smoke on the other hand would indicate a broken engine! smell the oil from the dipstick, is there a fuel smell? disconnect the fuel line, take off the air filter...

Re: Install Tachometer (Diesel)
Trying to get my head around this. I'm not familiar with the diesel layout but I'm assuming then that the alternator and main crank pulleys are exactly the same size for it to measure how many revolutions the engine is doing. If they were not, the tacho could be miles out surely. Well as it...

Re: Replacement Panel Quality and Fit?
Good to know thanks, yes the shorter hose on the Clarke does mean a bit of shuffling about. Dont suppose you have seen the spot weld (plugging timer) on the portamigs? Was wandering if its worth specing or just do what we always do, count 1..2! Not tried it, never use that, I just fill in the spot ...
