Re: 2.1 DJ. Syncro. Total cut out when driving.
Had the Idle Stabiliser play up on my DJ, you can bypass it by unpluging the two plugs and connecting them together. Would at least take it out of the equation.

Re: Planning a leisure gas tank under front bash guard.
here are some pics If I can remember right its a 50L tanks 650 dia 220 high. The bash plate will not go back on, I did think about finding a tank to sit inside the bash plate instead of the tyre but it would be horizontal. http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/yy22/akira28/SAM_0369.jpg http://i774.phot...

Re: Planning a leisure gas tank under front bash guard.
Just fitted a LPG tank in the same space but as a secondary fuel tank with liquid take off. Had to remove the bash plate / tyre holder. Made a new frame to hold tank out of 6 x 25 mild. The tank is a singe hole Stako which you cold easily modify the pick up pipe. Works a treat and almost doubled the...

Re: Now don't try this at home
Be carefull even in first, bump started the van and must admit was a bit quick with cutch. Left small fridge on.
50 miles later strange noise and dead pinion.
Would have saved £1000 for spare pinion/crown & rebuild if I had brought a £10 battery saver from Maplins Doh!

Re: ARB Drop Link Bushes
One came adrift on my van so made a small press to fit it back in. Drove 100 miles with the rubber out of the eye and no damage was done, apart to my nerves! http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/yy22/akira28/DSC01896.jpg It was a while ago but if i recall correctly I put the bush on ARB then used the ...

Any one used Notter Motorsport in Germany
Just come accross this company: http://www.tdi-umbau.com/index.html
As I am after some rear exhaust hangers for my DJ, they do lots of very shiny stuff including tank straps.
Can anyone recommend them?
Cheers Jim

Re: fitting oversize wheels to a syncro
Just a quick question to all those who have fitted alloys to your syncro's, Did you have to extend the studs or drill out the alloys? Just a glimer off hope so I don't have to dismantle the front & rear hubs.
Cheers

Re: Front wheel alignment. How hard is DIY adjustment?
How do check the Caster Simon? Changed the radius arms on mine and it was about 1 Degree out as well as the Camber. They adjusted the caster and that brought the Camber back. Do you go by a standard measurment on the radius arms.

Thought this might be a good insight, it's the workshop bulletin for 4wd running gear. Just scanned in the adjustment bit.

Not Cheeky at all Emma, if your in no hurry should not be a problem cause I have to do what we call a "homer" in my lunch break to make any spare parts. Could get a price from a local machinest if there is alot of demand.
Will keep you posted Jim
