Thanks all sorted now couplings use large domed collet ,took to local pipe maker he charged 38 + vat didnt think that was too bad ?...........

Power steering Rack

Does anyone know how the pipes terminate at steering rack end (Mine need doing but dont want to undo nuts incase they break) does the pipe have a compression lump in line or does it use an olive or some other type of fixing....
Any knowledge greatfully received

1.9 - 2.1 Fuel tank........

Anyone know the difference between the two tanks ,Is there a difference ?
I found the filler pipes have two diffenent sizes the later one being plastic,but JK is listing adifferent tank for the 2.1 so I thought I would pick some brains !

Mmmm never seen an idle stab on a DG (doesnt mean it wasnt fitted though) but I thought they were only fitted to the Aircooled ones.... It could be that so;eone has fitted an Aircooled distributor too, if a 1.6 then ok, but if off a 2L then advance curve will be all out of shape, whats the part num...

Idle stabilization unit

Hi all ,have got a 1.9 dg engine (carb) lump in a 1983 t25 - i was wondering if im able to run the vehicle by connecting the two round 3 pin terminal plugs from the idle stabilization unit and use it all the time this way or will it do some damage ?- I bow to your superior knowledge because i havnt ...

If you mean the black box of wires thats screwed to the front left of the engine bay (looking back to front) then I believe the relay in question is connected to the inlet air manifold heater. It's located under the resonating chamber on the inlet manifold and is switched on the temperature of the ...

I 've got a 1.9 water cooled petrol dg engine ,A reg there is a relay in the black box full of wires on the n/s in the engine bay -do any of you electriky boys know what it controls

OB1, Firing order 1-4-3-2 (I always remember it as 4-3-2-1 and then start with 1, if that makes sense :roll: ) Number one cylinder is front right, 2 rear right 3 front left and four rear left. Been a bit of a numpty and dont know firing order and which cylinder No is which on a 1983 1900dg water cooled engine (Lost workshop manual )
