Good news, thank you for updating, may look at mine now as it let me down in the summer and I was thinking of a compressor upgrade but they are smaller

Re: Rear Springs Replacement - Compression Tool
You may need to undo the inner cv joint to allow the arm to drop enough for the spring to come off the turrets, my nearside was easy, drivers side needed the cv undone.

Re: Cooling system - overheating
Had this a while ago when I built my current engine, bought new, can't remember where from now, they weren't this bad but replaced them with the original 10mm screws having ground some slight burrs off, been ok for the last 20,000 miles. Where is the crossed fingers emoji?

Re: Curtain rail recommendations
Most camper converters for the last 40 years + have used 'Silent Gliss' top fix aluminium camper/boat curtain track, I even remember these when growing up in a 57 Canterbury Pit splittie :ok and I have them in my T25 around the screen, continuous length from the passenger B post to the corner of th...

Re: Help me identify my carburetor and maybe locate a reconditioned one?
The carb is a Pierburg 2E3, if it is running ok apart from the idle then you may have a vacuum leak in the flexy hose for the brake servo or distributor vacuum advance pipe, If you want a reconditioned carb then the best people are 'Bromyard VW' see google.

Re: headlamps brightness boost
There was a tread on here Re upgrading wiring with relays to remove the load on the headlight switch and running a heavier duty supply wire from the battery to supply the power side of the relays, but I can't remember when. I have done this on mine and use the 'Osram Nightbreaker' bulbs, although I ...

Re: 2.1DJ - Head refit - No compression on Cyl 3
Just a thought but if you remove the rockers then no air is drawn in to compress, did you check other cylinders with rockers off or only number 3? Compression test should be done with throttle wide open to charge cylinders, most likely tappet setting on your initial test. Where is the fingers crosse...

Re: DJ2.1 Rebuild
it looks as though it is outside of the green O ring seal, if it is I would leave as is, and avoid jb weld degenerating and getting in coolant. Hope all goes well today, looking good
