Re: Crank pulley query, probably just me (again)

The correct bolt stops 8mm short of the depth of the pulley, I think that the longer one will bottom out in the crankshaft hole before securing the pulleyImage

Re: Crank pulley query, probably just me (again)

If using the single belt pulley, make sure that there is not an 'O' ring remaining on the crankshaft to the outside of the oil throwing disc. If you look at the back of the pulleys in your picture, the single pulley bolts up to (squashes)the oil thrower. The three belt pulley bolts up to the end of ...

Re: Crank pulley query, probably just me (again)

The crankshaft machining is the same for both pulleys, the three belt pulley has an 'O' ring that sits in the machined bore on the back of the pulley, the standard single belt pulley does not have this, you will need the bolt and washer from the single bolt pulley to mount to the crankshaft, the thr...

Re: van keeps loosing power

I would suggest considering the time of year and the time unused it’s almost certainly damp in the ignition system except that it started and ran for 5mins, got up to 50 mph and then the problems started, with twin 40's, non standard air filters and intake manifolds it is possible to get icing. Dep...

Re: van keeps loosing power

With the weather conditions lately it may be carb icing this will cause it to run lumpy and rich with no power used to be called '8 stroking' if it restarts after standing when run with these symptoms, the heat from the engine will de-ice the carbs and it should run properly again. Worth checking, i...

Re: Heater box refurbishment

The two number 7 flaps do just unclip if you look with a torch and mirror you can see which way to pull, I found it best to clench your buttocks at the same time in the hope of not snapping the pivot pins off, it worked in my case. Good luck :ok

Re: Problem with Gas/petrol switch

There should be an inline fuse in the ignition supply to the change over switch, if there are no lights this has maybe blown. if it has then neither the gas solenoid or petrol solenoid will operate, no fuel, no engine

Re: Heater Blower Motor Replacement

I did the pwm upgrade a couple of years ago, due to the resistors in the heater box overheating and nearly causing a fire (A piece of paper/ label in the heater box burnt) fan appears to run at max speed and I have had no issues with flat battery although I do  use the hook up from time to time beca...
