Re: VAGCOM

Jes you can try my genuine version if you like. I have it on a windows netbook. After you have had a play you can either take the plunge on one or not. Off to the US soon so can bring the cable back to save on the tax if you like.

Re: Subaru Power steering question

Thanks all.

Anyone care to share what they've actually done, and whether it works well, or whether you'd change anything if doing again?

Subaru Power steering question

My caravelle didnt have factory PS so I removed it when I did the Ej25 conversion. This engine is now going in my Doka however, which does have factory PS. Question: Do the factory VW power steering hoses reach and bolt straight on to the Subaru PS pump? If not, what modifications do I need to make/...

Re: Just dropped the Syncro in for its weekender conversion

Yep, I've been speaking to Jon a lot recently too; he seems like a sound bloke. The project is just a Caravelle Cl! Want to make it a syncro! Dad bought it when I was only 2 or 3, and sold it in my mid twenties. I bought it back recently. Want to use it, and a syncro camper is pretty much the only t...

Re: Just dropped the Syncro in for its weekender conversion

Cool Greg :ok So where will the kids go? We have a nifty removable hammock above the front seats for the boy - its up in about 20secs and gives him plenty of room. Think you'll go with a pop top at some point? Cooking hunched over those burners will get tiresome as I'm sure you're aware! Who fitted ...

Twin slider camper conversions?

Just curious to see if anyone has ever developed a good functional twin slider camper conversion? I know its practically an oxymoron, as two doors flies in the face of a camper, but nevertheless, I'm sure someone out there has had a punt. Just curious to see what it looks like...

Wow you took the plunge on a conversion after all! Pop top too?

Did you get the sliding door panel fixed yet? ;)

Re: Heavy duty lowered rear springs

Problem is I only need the rear springs. I could put a little spring spacer in I was thinking...

Those shocks say they're a direct replacement of the OE ones? What makes them heavy duty?

Heavy duty lowered rear springs

Hi all I've just put the Subaru SVX lump in the van, and as suspected, the rear end has settled a little lower than previously. Boy is it a heavy lump. The van is on -70m Avo lowered springs, and has been for a few years, so they're well and truly settled. They don't have a great deal of travel on t...

Re: Big brake upgrades

As you have the 16 inch rims, how about Ultimate Engineering's Porsche upgrade? Pricey. Did it on my Multivan along with a BMW servo, and truly been thrown in to the 21st century. Amazin'.

Re: My 'new' Tristar Syncro Doka - The journey starts here...

Did a gearbox oil change this week. Wasnt too difficult, but did have to drop the crash rails to get to the drain sump plug. Used a piece of hose to fill. A few photos for those thinking of trying for the first time: http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h321/samuelvincentvella/Syncro%20Tristar%20Doka...
