Re: Carthago Plastic Window to Glass?
Hi there. How did this go? Did you find a replacement? I have a 1988 Carthago and have the same problem with the window on the sliding door. Big crack, full of condensation, probably not good for the bodywork. It's hard to get the plastic windows back in without cracking them once you've taken them ...

Waxoyl/steam clean south Scotland/Cumbria
Hello hello! I need to get the underside of my van steam cleaned and waxoyled before the grit and salt hits the roads... can anyone recommend a garage that can do this in Southern Scotland/central belt/Cumbria area? Someone told me that I need to be careful that the job is done properly, as not clea...

Re: need a good garage near dumfries
Hello! Sorry, I don't check this forum very often. But if it's not too late I would avoid Solway Beetles like the plague, and instead contact a garage called John Black at Catherinefield Industrial Estate in Heathhall. He has been looking after my van since I got it in May and I'm really pleased wit...

Re: Cornwall campsite recommendations??
Ooh, we have been pretty lucky then... just booked a pitch at Gwithian 18 and 19 July!! They normally only take 5 day minium bookings in July and August but had a gap to fill. Our pitch is also available after we leave on 20 and 21st if anyone is after it!! I think we might be going just before the ...

Cornwall campsite recommendations??
Hello hello! Heading to Cornwall for a week or so on 16th July. Visiting friends near Falmouth, and doing a day at the Eden Project, cider farms (someone else has volunteered for driving duty that day, hurrah!) and hopefully a few surfing lessons (got the VW now so it'd be rude not to!!!!!). Looking...

Re: T25 virgins wanting camper!
Left hand drive is great! It's much easier to park - friends get really impressed when I can reverse park a massive van, but don't realise it's because I'm sitting right next to the kerb! The only issue is overtaking- you can't see out into the middle of the road without actually pulling right out. ...

Seat covers for captains chairs
Hello hello. Any ideas where I can order some removable seat covers for the front seats in my van? They are captains chairs with arm rests and head rests. I can only find covers for seats with no arm rests or ones with a hole in the side. Ideally I want something that will cover the arms too. The up...

Re: what's the best pop-top?
Get the best of both worlds! On my Carthago I am lucky enough to have a semi-high top which pops up further for sleeping. Means you can keep the top down for cooking and still get enough height not to bash your head, but you can elevate it at night time. Incidentally, I spent my first night in this ...

Re: Would you buy this? How much rust is too much rust?
It's finally mine and in my driveway! Well actually I brought it to work with me today because I can't bear to let it out of my sight! First drive was 2 hours through the hills last night to get it home and it drove like a dream, and used much less fuel than my thirsty car. I am stoked! The rev coun...

Re: Would you buy this? How much rust is too much rust?
Hee hee, thanks everyone! The only place I have ever been 'congratulated' for spending loads of money! It makes me laugh that it's the same sentiment as getting married or having a baby - obviously a big moment in one's life. Cooooooool! I'm picking it up tonight so more pictures to follow later in ...
