Re: Replacement Headlights
I'm using ones from a web shop 'powerfuluk'. I've had them for about 5 years, they do the job well. Meant for a land rover I think, so the bezels need some tweaking- I can't really remember what needed to be done! https://www.powerfuluk.com/collections/old-defender-lamps-lights/products/headlight-up...

Re: Brake lights
The brake lights will work even with the ignition off if I recall right. Engine doesn't need to run no [emoji106] Have you looked under the rubber boot on the light cluster, see if anything looks bad there,? Yes the brake switch(es) are screwed into the master cylinder, which is underneath the dash ...

Re: Brake lights
The brake light is just a single filament, 1156 bulb. No such fancy thing as two filaments here!

Re: Probably not right...
I'd say direct to the main battery with an inline fuse (probably quite a hefty one, but check what rating you need). Definitely not a leisure battery (maybe it was easier to tap into at the time ?)

Re: Early Slding door Catch fouling on door card
job done! just punched the stopper back in a bit, it was a bit twisted. nothing wrong with the door card or door position, but ive got some good clearance now from the latch hook. thanks to everyone for chiming in! :ok https://i.imgur.com/6uCWlFg.jpeg https://i.imgur.com/0F18Fk0.jpeg the late door...

Re: Early Slding door Catch fouling on door card
I could try removing my spring see if its different to yours. Don't do it!!! Probably won't go back in, or shoot off into oblivion [emoji12] I'll take the metal panel off tomorrow and see if I can persuade the stopper back a bit with a tappy tap hammer [emoji106] Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk

Re: Early Slding door Catch fouling on door card
https://i.imgur.com/ClaVGYD.jpeg This is my early slider. The card I'd uncovered, but even so there is a gap that a finger fits between catch and card. Also a gap between card and runner cover panel. Looks like your door is closer to the body than mine. Nice thanks! Looks the same spring fitting I ...

Re: Early Slding door Catch fouling on door card
Thanks mocki, I noticed this too, but wondered if it's different on early /late? The spring engagement looks different to stesaw's, but wouldn't change the throw. I'll take the cover panel off and see if it looks bent. Here's the spring. I got it from someone on here years ago, it didn't have one wh...

Early Slding door Catch fouling on door card
Hi, Just fitted s new door card to my early slider, and the return hook latch thing (to keep the slider open) fouls on the card, threatrening to make a huge rip  this used to happen on the old card too, though not as prominent since it was thinner and more rotten. https://i.imgur.com/AlJuLpJ....

Re: Sliding door not locking from outside
With the outside door handle removed, can you lock and unlock the door with your finger, by pushing the lock ring left and right?

Re: Clutch woes
There's info on here somewhere (from Aidan probably) about how far the throw should be on the clutch slave- worth getting that info if you can find it [emoji106]

Re: Identifying / replacing sliding windows
Swapped in the new window last week, what a faff [emoji21] I could put a small blade along the old mastic and release the whole frame without much trouble at all. Window recess was in great condition though with no broken paint or rust, just used alcohol to clean it up ready for the new proper seal ...

Re: 1986 T25 Rear Seats - Seatbelts?
I think if the vehicle wasn't fitted with them when it was made, then you've no obligation to fit them. Though obviously it's a good idea. Check that though!
Ps welcome!
