Re: 1990 DG petrol 1900cc idle speed too low.
Do not be too quick with thinking that increasing the idle speed solves the problem. When a carburettor has been performing correctly and the suddenly has a faltering hot idle speed it should tell you that there is a fault. Your fault is probably down to a bit of contamination withinand and simply i...

FrancisA, It would probably be best if you outlined the problem with the carburettor such that all your friends on here can better point you in the right direction

Re: twin 40 carbs on a 2.1 mv engine.
Whilst the background of events re this Brosul carburettor should be academic, as the question has been asked -a few more details. I was persuaded to sell my superb Van in 2016 to a friend because I had to work abroad for 12 months. Bought another last August and along with the engine I wanted anoth...

Re: twin 40 carbs on a 2.1 mv engine.
I bought one of these so called replacements for the Pierburg carburettor on my T25 at the same time as the engine was changed. It was soon sent back for a refund. This thing made by Brosul in Brazil is a complete carve up of a carburettor and uses the bottom end off a Mk2 Golf 2e2 carburettor and t...

Re: Help needed with a new carb!
Sorry Simmo, not quite right. There is also a major difference in the throttle actuator operation for the auto transmission version of the Pierburg carburettor and which provides for higher rpm and retained for longer during the warm-up phase. This is designed to compensate for the drag from the aut...

Re: Help needed with a new carb!
Steve seems to suggest that the photos uploaded were of an old design yet they were actually taken from a Netherlands site selling those same units today. Perhaps Steve would upload some photos of the carburettor that he says are an updated version. That would clarify the concerns that the carburett...

Re: Help needed with a new carb!
Bit of a debate on these carburettors from VW Heritage. I thought it was a bit strange that Heritage only show the carb from one side whereas any new carb advertised always has views from all angles. This is a Brosol carb and made in Brazil. I have done a bit of digging and the other side of the car...

Re: What Weber is this on my 2.1??
Can you provide the item number for the VW Classic 2e3 carburettors. The only 'so called' original NEW Pierburg 2e3 carburettors that I can find are Chinese and they bear absolutely no resemblance to the genuine article. They do not have the same body, have no automatic choke feature, and no throttl...

Re: pierburg 2e3
I contacted Bromyard VW after Kevs post. Had a long conversation and was told that the carburettor would first of all be tested before any work was carried out in order to confirm that the symptoms that I had could be established and confirmed. If that was the case then it would be refurbished by a ...

Re: pierburg 2e3
I contacted Dellorto to find out about their reconditioning service for 2e3 carburettors and I was told that the carb was fully refurbished with all seals gaskets and diaphragms replaced but when asked about setting up and engine testing to identify if the faults had been cleared , I was told that N...

Re: Loss of power again!!
I generally do not add any input on Forums but, having diagnosed faults on Golfs and T25 for over 25 years I can possibly provide some guidance for this one. Invariably because of the attempts at rectification of a power problems over a period of time, people lose the correct base point in order to ...
