Flipping a Diff...

Maybe a silly question, but has anyone ever looked at flipping the diff on a Passat 1.9 TDi/5 (or 6) speed g'box and swapping the whole lot into a T25?
Just a thought... :?

Re: Water filler cap

Hi...
I got the very thing (and a matching mains hookup socket) from CAK Tanks and fitted them both at the weekend!

Thanks for your replies! :D

Water Tank Filler Cap

Hi.. Does anyone know where I can get a water tank filler cap? The existing one is rectangular, mounted on the body side, with a lockable flap that seals off the filler pipe when closed. Unfortunately the hinge spindle has broken. I have tried all the usual sources (JK etc) and several caravan spare...

Roof Lining

Trust me... I've done it... If the hight top isn't ply-lined - line it! (and insulate) Never even think of using spray adhesive... it'll cost you a fortune and is messy... and doesn't stick either. Contact adhesives don't give you any room for manouevre, whether they are water or solvent based. Use ...

Re: Lining a hightop

2 things come to mind... 1. I'm not certain, but there's a good chance that spray carpet adhesive will dissolve the polystyrene... 2. In my experience, spray adhesive will not fix the carpet for any length of time; and it's bloody expensive... flooring adhesive is much much better and more ec...

MV Engine Swap

Guesty...

If your MV is a runner I might be interested in taking it off your hands to replace my DG, providing it comes with manifold and all the leccies and injection system, loom, etc...

Carpet Tiles

I thought about doing this too. The original carpet was glued to the inside of the fg top, following all the nooks and crannies... I soon realised that I would never be able to match the straight edges of carpet tiles cuz they get distorted when following the roof shapes. I glued some small battens ...

I forgot...

How can the heads be the same on a 2.1 when it's injected?
Or is it a cheapo single-point injection system like they put on the old Rover 214's and Sierras?

Re: Silly Question

Thanks guys! Mine's an 85 though.. so I assume an 'early' case. Looks like I'll need to get a 2.1, I was hoping to use the DG case :(

May be a silly question...

This may be a silly question, but does anybody know if a 1.9 DG can be turned into a (sort of) 2.1? The pistons are the same diameter, so the throw on the crank must be different to get the greater capacity. I would be using the 1.9 heads, valves, carburettor, etc. I just wondered, since I'm probabl...

Re: Body Panels

If my memory serves me right, the panel cost around £34 delivered; this was around June/July this year, the current price will be on the JK website. The labour was free! (Mine!)

Re: Body Panels

Hi... I bought a lower side panel from JK... they only do the LHD version (as does Alan Schofield) and they both say that the panel 'needs adjustment' to fit on the right hand side. The quality isn't bad... a little on the thin side compared with the original, but the 'adjustment' needed is cutting ...

Leisure Battery & Charging...

Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons... I know the common method of activating the split charge relay is via a link to the charge warning light and, on the face of it, this is a sound idea. However... consider this: With a nice fully charged starter battery, but with another problem that makes st...
