I think scottbott's solution is probably the best way ,as the brackets are designed for this install clamping the rails and becoming part of the bodywork....Your right the awning is a longggggg one ,but the high top could take the load and you would have to have bolts & plates showing on the int...

Your a diamond colin ...i've got an axminster close by :ok There is a superglue with the consisitency of water which is just made for jobs like this. Disappears down a crack using capillary action. Never tried it on a steering wheel, but it should work. I use it for tightening up the joints on loose...

The caravelle steering wheels don't come up for sale that often and aren't cheap ,so i'll have to try any repair job to save it getting any worse ...

i have seen one which had a pod behind each front seat and so still using both doors... depends what you need from the camper i suppose .. yeah that is the trouble i was just going to make the units down one side but if and when i wanted to sell it would de value it in my opinion Im sure there is so...

i would be scared to have a rev counter on my 4 speed 1.6td when it's showing anything around the 70mph area the engine sounds like it's going into orbit ... :lol
