my van sucked the new battery dry and broke down again.. luckily i charged the old battery and left it in the van just in case, so i was able to swap them over and it started up fine.

it must be the alternator.. where is the best place to get a new alternator?

well, the van passed its mot and emissions test, by the skin of its teeth. it runs o.k. but def needs a carb rebuild in the near future.

thanks, that would have been perfect, but its 4 hours from me. if the van manages to pass its retest today, i can make it down to chester to get them done, but if it fails the emision test, then i'm stuck as i wont be able to get it there. does anyone know of anyone who refurbs carbs closer to kent/...

o.k.

would the carb be responsible for the emissions mot failure, or is the mechanic pulling my chain and trying to make a quick buck?

and is it an easy job refurbing the carb with the kit?

thanks.

!!

as everyone says buy on bodywork.. but if the price is right just go for it , as welding isnt that expensive.. and roller painting is cheap as cheeps. mine had a few big holes.. but they are all sorted now except paint.
