Westy Kitchen Unit wires to battery

I have looked around at the wiki and threads here and on Brickyards I promise, but just confusing myself and they're are so many. After a very small but heart stopping fire from the wiring at my leisure battery I am going to start rewiring and updating where needed. I have various diagrams and wirin...

Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!

Thought about time I contributed something..... Before. http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o213/davidfryan1905/EireSarah061_zps4f64d73e.jpg Was originally the Lime Green but someone had decided to paint it (not very well) this Blue which just didn't feel right as well as bits flaking off and general...

Re: how to improve Aircooled mpg

I've just had my '81 converted to LPG (Gasure), cost about £1200 and so far would recommend it. I reckon I saved about £30 over normal petrol price between London and Glasgow and as I'm about (hoping!!) to do 3-4000 miles around Europe soon it makes sense for me. Was told by Steve (Gasure) that it ...

Re: how to improve Aircooled mpg

I've just had my '81 converted to LPG (Gasure)... Was told by Steve (Gasure) that it also reduces road tax but not looked into that fully yet as just sent off V5. If so that also could be a big saving as we're paying £230 or whatever a year. Can you tell us any more about this ? I have not heard of...

Re: Mechanical fuel pump - urgent help.

Everything now found and ordered. Thank you for your help as always.

Now, when fixed, if the van can survive it's 3 month tour round Europe without anything major going wrong I'll never moan about anything going wrong again.

Cheers people

Re: Mechanical fuel pump - urgent help.

Cheers for reply Em. Post just edited that there is actually a leak from the pump so has to be removed, not just a straight switch over to electric

I take it hole that will be left if removed can be sealed somehow and then switch to the elctric one?

Mechanical fuel pump - urgent help.

I'm supposed to be off to Europe in a couple of weeks for a 3 month tour and van has developed some problems. My van, 1981 petrol Aircooled has gone into the garage and apparently needs a new "mechanical fuel pump". The garage is having problems getting parts details or a supplier for one....

Cab door seals.

Hello everyone. Sorry, stupid question time. I went to fit new seals around my cab doors then noticed one half of the rubber is harder and the other softer which I didn't notice when I removed and threw out the old ones. My instinct is that the harder side is the one that goes against the door but a...

Re: Door mirrors!!

Are you sure they don't move? They are very stiff and at first I thought they didn't move but then got confident enough to use a bit more force. There's not loads of movement range but enough.
Just be careful not to twist the bit where the glass is as the glass has a tendency to crack
