It starts fine first time when the vehicle has run the previous day. The problem only occurs when it has been left for more that 5 days, it is as though all the fuel drains out of the engine.

chokes seem find. Any more ideas?

I have an 1981 Aircooled 2L van with an electronic ignition system. The van does not seem to have an idle stabilizing unit, do that sound normal?

There is a supply of petrol, I am getting 12 volts at the coil and it is sparking fine. I have just bought a new T25 IGNITION SWITCH UNIT RELAY “ T C I"| from JK I will fit that and see if that help!

I have an intermittent problem starting my 2 litre petrol '81 air-cooled van. It turns over but does not fire. I have replaced the battery, plugs, ht leads, distributor cap and rotor arm and checked all the electrical connections and I am still having problems, what should I replace next?

I fitted new struts on my van bought from the same place as your. Difficult job to fit with the strength of the struts as you have to compress them slightly to fit them. It is a job for 2 people
