Re: Show us your Interiors
Thanks for the other inspriation above. We had a nightmare deciding what to do with our interior. I hope this inspires others to be brave and dive into redoing the seats. These are the photos of the captains chairs and the back seat recovered in cream leather. Pictures don't really do it justice. Th...

Re: Customer Leather Interiors
I finally found someone technical. Here are the photos of the captains chairs and the back seat recovered in cream leather. Pictures dont really do it justice. The Van is away being further improved, will put picutures up when it is back. They kept the separation on the back seat foam to reduce stre...

Customer Leather Interiors
I know from looking at peoples Vans in the meetings last year that so many people have such great customer interiors. I wondered if people could put pictures on of ones they are are particulalarly proud of. We are particularly delighted with the effort we have made with our van last year and we woul...

Re: NEW TRIM RANGE FROM NEWTON COMMERCIAL LAUNCHED TODAY
Very good to see the range avaialable commercially expanding. We had a very good look last year at what was available and decided that what was commercially avaialable was not for us. Completely understand that a lot of people will go for the fully managed route and I can understand that completely....

Re: making new interior panels/door cards
Dont know if it is going to help, but we bought some new door cards from just campers and we covered them in cream leather. The end result looks a million dollars. You can buy a whole hide on ebay for about £70 any colour you like. You need to cut it to size with an extra two inches all round. We us...

Re: Headlight relay upgrade info needed
I am aware I may have slaughtered several sacred cows along the way and I may have committed electical heresy as I left the fuseboard and relay board completely alone. We use the existing wiring, relays and switches in the van and just use the feed AT the headlights to pull additional relays behind ...

Re: newbie - where to start with temp lights flashing
Hi, Not sure whether this is the reason but in fixing our gauges we found almost all the faults came down to earth connections (they are all over the place) that had corroded and lost connection. The temp gauge can be tested by shorting some relay contacts (look on the forums I found it in here some...

Re: headlamp relay upgrade
Like a lot of people we have had significant headlight issues (functioning but useless). We were looking at voltage boosters at the front to upgrade the voltage at the front of the van to boost the headlights. After looking through this forum the advice seemed to be don't as you are pulling more cur...

Re: Leaky fuel tank?
Given the non connection of the pipe onto the expansion tank, I would suspect that the tank has been dropped in the past and not reassembled correctly. It is impossible to get the breather pipes back onto the tank without putting the grommets in first and they may have just given up as they are NOT ...

Re: Rev Counter Fault
Thanks, that looks like a good list and I take your point about finding someone with a working van, if I can find a local one that has to be the way to go. All I think I need to do is unplug my red black wire and connect it to their alternator using a loose wire? Earth the vans together as well - Pr...

Re: 1.6 td jx connex for temp switches and temp sensors
Garyd, Thank you very much. All diagnosed and working thanks to your help. In the end it turned out to be the mount for the two temp sensors on the end to the block had been insulated by the gasket and the return path to earth was not there through the block. I have now fitted an earth direct to the...

Rev Counter Fault
I have a non working rev counter in a 1988 T25 westy 1.6td jx. Looking at the web the wire from the alternator (red black) goes to the binnacle (it does I checked the connectivity). How do I determine whether it is the alternator that is not sending a pulse or the rev counter which has gone? I only ...

Re: 1.6 td jx connex for temp switches and temp sensors
Of course the more observant will know that there is a fifth one at the water feed from the water pump on top of the canted engine. Any help on that one much appreciated as well
