Re: Covkid Gadget!

Can confirm that compass does indeed change once moving. Defaults to North when static. Speedo seems accurate as it shows 33mph on civic speedo and 30mph on inclinometer. That is correct due to fitting low profiles. Also clock picks up correct time automatically. Nothing to complain about for £33 vi...

Re: Covkid Gadget!

Thanks for the slap around the head Steve  :rofl - Done I've yet to see what happens to the compass once you get going but not sure its any use on the road anyway - unless you think you're heading northbound on the motorway and its pointing South. That said, if you're heading to Scotland, it'll be r...

Re: Covkid Gadget!

Takes a lot of the work out of it for sure. Doesn't seem a bad buy from Aliexpress at £33 incl postage. Was here in about 10 days. Its surprising how much even a slight lean can make bedtime really odd.  I'm not far from the Wallace these days.

Covkid Gadget!

I'm back, with a gadget that is perfect for any T25. Still around, mostly concentrating on my house and restoring old arcade machines on youtube but this one is perfect for when you need to level everything up on your pitch.

Re: Beginners guide to lda repair

A bit late I know, but I'm still alive you know  :D  Branched out into other things but you can find me on youtube - "Ralph's House'. I restore a good deal of vintage/antique arcade machines these days but still make odds and ends on the bench for T25s etc. https://www.youtube.com/@Ralphs-House...

Protecting engine bay wires

Quick tip from Covkid on preventing engine bay wires from going brittle. I use the same stuff when restoring valve radios because of its heat-resistant and insulation properties.

Works with electronics too. Often use that technique with old valve radios that have been stored in damp conditions.

Re: Blower Motor PWM Upgrade

Sorry Ryan, since starting my "Ralph's House" channel on youtube, and the camper mothballed, I've not been here as much as I used to. Very neat job. I always thought this project had lots of ways you could do it, and you've found your own route which is very encouraging. I still have a few...

Re: Blower Motor PWM Upgrade

As I suggested in my wiki and youtube videos, aim for 20amp to give the circuit headroom. I wouldn't mount PWM unit inside fan casing either. Was bad enough with resistors locked away in there. Mine is tucked up just inside the dash on a small bracket. Mine still working great but if you do have to ...

Release bearing

Unable to add to WIKI at mo as it crashes when I login, but I uploaded this to youtube a couple of years ago. Makes installation of release bearing a total breeze

And check what sized fuse too. Its not uncommon to see oversized fuse due to it blowing in the past. Read: http://wiki.club8090.co.uk/index.php/Co ... eplacement" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and scroll down to: PRE-85 FUSEBOX MOD :ok

Re: Rear Driveshaft just fell off!

Chances are they were rattling about just before it happened. Unfortunately its one of those noises that by the time you've noticed it, its already too late. The sudden acceleration usually prompts the whole thing to part company. Don't worry, I'm a seasoned VW owner and its happened to me three tim...
