Re: VW Bodyshop/Garage in Portugal?

I'm a brit that's moved to Ericeira, Portugal, and am keen to get some body work done on my rusty bus. Did you have much success with the garages you mentioned above?

Re: intermittent starting problem

So today I got it started again! I temporarily unplugged the ECU, tried starting it and it fired up straight away then died after about 5 or seconds. Apparently, this proves it was over fueling and uses the fuel left in the bores? It then wouldn't start again, I plugged the ECU back in, still wouldn...

Re: intermittent starting problem

Does anyone have any tips on how to diagnose any of this if they are on their own? As now the van won't even start at all.

Re: intermittent starting problem

Based on the scenario where that van starts but at really low revs with the accelerator not having any effect, does not rule out the ignition switch? I’ve also had this fitted last year - Distributor Repair Kit - T3 / With Vac Advance https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/distributor-repair-kit-t3-with-vac-a...

intermittent starting problem

Help! I’ve got a really strange intermittent starting problem - this used to happen 5 ish times a year, but now it’s getting increasingly frequent, making the van a complete unknown whether it will start or not. So please bear with me, it’s a bit long winded but it all hopefully makes sense. Turning...

Re: new stainless steel exhaust - pro speed

Pro Speed are charging £600 including fitting, which is appealing... They also take credit card which is a necessity :) ...and have a courtesy car!!

Unless you could recommend someone to fit it near ISH to Dorset? ...

new stainless steel exhaust - pro speed

Hi

I'm interested getting a new stainless steel exhaust system fitted. Does anyone have any experience with Pro Speed, and how they compare to VW Speed shop systems?

Thanks

starter motor removal and fitting

Last time I had to do this, it was snowing, no jacks and hardly any tools and time. It sucked I hated it and it took freaking ages. The fact that I'm having to whack my starter motor occasionally has led me to believe it's had it! So a nice new one is on it's way from Brickwerks. However, I want to ...

Re: Water leaking into passenger footwell

A window fitter told a lonng story how it has to be rubber and glass, but rubbish it still leaked after a £30 visiting them!

Outside, between rubber and metal, all the way round.. new washer jets and a bit of plumbers mate, in around the jet for good luck! = No leaks!

Re: Water leaking into passenger footwell

That's what I used arbomast sealant for, but did window to rubber (as recommended by an auto window fitter) but it makes more sense to run a bead between the rubber and van instead
