Re: Clunk when lifting the clutch... any ideas?

can of beans in a cupboard? Ha, that brings to mind an incident from many years ago, when a long term experienced owner had a random knocking noise he couldn’t track down, driving him nuts it was….. well after many people had given advice , non of which led to the solving of the issue , we were on ...

Yeah, it only appears on bluetooth when plugged in to the mains - as you say, to reduce parasitic power draw.

They're good chargers.
The "Night mode" is a good idea - reducing the current to allow it to run cooler and without turning the fan on and creating noise, however I've never actually heard the fan kick in on mine in normal mode!

That tyre looks incredibly perished and cracked - if the rest are the same age I would make it a top priority to replace them!

Re: Diesel Heaters

Lavaner make good heaters. They're chinese, but they are absolutely worlds above the usual £80 tat. A 2Kw "Pro" is about £180 posted. Properly waterproof too, so OK to fit outside the van. I have one under the drivers step on my T6 4-motion and it has been totally submerged in water while ...

Re: Water thingy

Be very wary ordering from CAK tanks, their attitude to customer service is by far the worst I have ever encountered by any company. I ordered £500 worth of tanks and parts for my Boxer camper. A month later, nothing had arrived. I called and got told to email. Emailed them about a dozen times and w...

Re: petrol to diesel engine swop

Been a while since I did mine, so I may be a bit rusty. You need basically everything from a diesel T25 engine bay (bar the AAZ itself), plus the bellhousing and flywheel. All the engine bay coolant system is different, but will join to your front to back hoses. The engine wiring loom plugs in. your...

Re: More Fuel Pipe Issues.

It's not a bad batch. Not faulty, just fake! Your reputable source has been buying from less reputable sources. Make sure you give them some grief about it, they've saved a few quid and your van could very well have gone on fire. Making fuel hose that doesn't fall apart after a few months is a tried...

Re: Rear Wheel Bearing Type

Look at the MOT history of any T25 nowadays and you'll see this same advisory, testers aren't familiar with them anymore.
There's a fair bit of play in them by design, unless they are noisy when rotated, I wouldn't worry.

Re: All Terrain Tyres

I have had BFG K02s on several vehicles, used daily. They're fairly inoffensive but you are definitely aware you're running all terrain tyres. They make a little bit of noise. Absolutely unstoppable in the snow. Reasonable road manners, not too sketchy in the rain but they do have an impact on MPG. ...

Oh, if your rust is relatively minor, I have repaired quite a few vans using the corner repair sections from schofields that are sold for a splitty https://www.alanhschofield.com/ourparts/prod_2425977-Windscreen-Repair-Lip-Outer-5067-211805040A.html https://www.alanhschofield.com/ourparts/prod_24259...

Re: Windscreen bottom corner repair panels

There are a few companies based in europe that will forward parcels on to the UK if required. I have a feeling my last order from them might have been the one that tipped them over the edge into realising it's not worth the ballache dealing with our inept postal and customs systems. I ordered a driv...

Re: Paint for aluminium

Hammerite is not a good paint for any application. It seems to have gained a good reputation over the years, but the formulation has changed since it's "glory days" and it is now just a strange, poorly performing paint that isn't compatible with most traditional automotive paints and prime...

Re: Replacement engine down south

A few years ago a friend sent an engine down to the above mentioned kent based workshop, along with £1800. They then totally ignored his calls and messages for months until he drove 250 miles down there to confront them. They gave him an engine off the shelf which they had rebuilt for another custom...
