i agree with Hammy,leave the carb alone till you have tried the old exhaust ,the new one shouldnt restrict power like that,maybe its been made wrong inside

fitted longer studs on the back,10mm spacer too,and 225 65 16 tyres ,everything clears ,even the fronts on lock to lock with 205 65 16 tyres ....nice

get some longer studs its safer ,work out the size you need with or without spacers,just make sure nothing touches in the arches /rear suspension /front on lock to lock too.kit will cost £90 ish depending on what you order off ebay

tried one front alloy(first one cleaned up)stud conversion on 10mm spacer ...damn its close.... ground a tiny bit off link arm to get 2mm clearance ,may need bigger spacer,wheels would not have fitted without spacer

if i add 10mm spacers the ET will go down from 39 to 29,is this ok . ordered kit any way as the bolts/studs need to be longer,asked for extra lengh rear studs 75mm overall length to allow for alloy thickness 20mm,spacer 10mm,and enough for the nut the front ones ,conversion studs extra long too ,wil...

when i tried them,they do need the studs like you said,will need spacers though as wont be able to get centre caps on,put a pair of 205's on to try

merc 16"came off 190e,these have a 39 et,what spacers /studs will i need for clearance of bodywork and suspension when i fit 205 65 16 tyres,the thickness of alloys at the stud hole is 20mm as the rear arches on a gipsy allow bigger spacers ,will going wider than 10mm spacers at the back cause ...

right then ,raised rear end ,made sure header was highest point ,run up to temp taking out coolant as it rose,left a decent air pocket ,used kit ,it showed that there was no head leak,put coolant back in ,turned engine off topped up coolant

1.6 td jx,the kit works on any watercooled engine,it uses a blue fluid that changes colour when in contact with co2(exhaust gasses),i'm crap at piccys but if you go on youtube and look in combustion gas leak tester,this is the idea .its how with our vans having the headertank lower than the radiator...

are there any problems using a head test kit on our vans ,like does the expansion bottle need to be higher than the radiator ,like on ramps at the back,or do you just use a piece of pipe off the blue cap ? do you test from cold or when warming up or at running temperature ? just want to do it right ...

try this if you dare... take off starter wire it up as it should be on the engine earth it out as best you can with a cable (same size as battery or use the one that goes from the -ve on the battery to the engine block)hold it down by standing on it,and get someone to try the ignition,if it turns ov...
