Re: Diesel 5spd Gearbox taken out but is it broken?
Sorry - Thanks Aiden when your £700ish excluding transport quote for a rebuild is nearly half the cost of the van - that it is bad news. :( if the van was in better nick it would be worth the investment but for now it's 2nd hand ebay etc for me. When I find my "Van for Life" so to speak I'...

Diesel 5spd Gearbox taken out but is it broken?
1987 1.6D converted panel van, 5 speed, gearbox code number appears to be ABR 308 7 Hi Folks, Had some gear problems recently but didn't know if it was the linkage, the gearbox or the clutch. Gearbox is now out and having a play with the selector I think I can only find 4 of the 6 positions. I'll tr...

Gearbox or Clutch issue?
1987 5speed 1.6 Diesel recently got stuck in 4th accelerating up a sliproad, managed to pull it out a day or two later, got in and out of other gears ok but kept getting stuck in 4th (about 3 times). Drove to work and back so my bro who's ex mechanic could look at it (4 miles at most?) A day or two ...

Reverse Light Wiring
Hi folks, I've searched before posting but not seen the answer yet. My reverse light didn't work when I bought the van. Been through 2 mot's and no probs but a touch dangerous parallel parking when peeps behind don't know what I'm doing, same in busy carparks with cars and poeple around me not sure ...

Re: listing/leaning/lob sided/wonky van...
wheel centre to arch
42.5cm on the nearside
42cm on the offside
diff 0.5cm
from floor to arch
72.5 on the nearside
70cm on the offside
diff 2.5cm
Does that still point to springs?

Re: listing/leaning/lob sided/wonky van...
Thanks for the link I'll check it out today. I measured the height from road to bottom of the front indicators and there's a difference of 3cm between left and right sides. Drivers side being the lower one. Same difference, same side at the back too. I should say I'm not carrying any water, the 9mm ...

Hi folks, I've tried searching the forums for a listing/leaning/lob sided van, but no matter what term I used I couldn't find the right kind of thread.. so I'm asking here. My van seems to dress to the right if you know what I mean, it's lower on the drivers side, compared to the near side.. I've al...

Re: accelerator cable replacement
Mine snapped on a sliproad last week and I'm replacing it today - it snapped by the pedal and I've pulled it through the outer tube that goes over the tank away from the front, undone the engine end but can't pull the cable through. If I pull from the engine end the 'foot' shaped bracket that bolts ...

Re: Rear seat belts
hi, I'm a novice too but I've learnt a couple of things. if you have an original camper you'll have a top mount at the back already there. on the pillar behind the last window If you buy the rear seatbelt kit from say Just Kampers you can bolt it in yourself. The kit comes with instructions although...

Panel Conversion Rear Seatbelt+welded mount photo anyone?
Hi Everyone, Anyone got experience of fitting the rear seatbelt kit from JK? including location of top mount that needs welding in place? 1.I've read panel vans didn't ship with top mount and instead you get a diple where the mount would be.ok... but there are more than one in that area. 2. the belt...

Hi, still getting to grips with my T25 and today I decided to follow a diy dash-mounted switch that didn't appear to do anything only to find it lead to something around the front radiator. Not sure whats going on and thought someone technical might explain what I'm looking at... my guess is based o...
