thanks for the replies. prices dont look too bad. i will get onto them once i have a complete list of things to order. be a few weeks yet as i'm flat out with work at the mo and have no time to play with engine

yeah will be getting a new pump as a matter of course and new bearings etc just wondering how much play there should be on the drive to cam wheel as i would like to eliminte the rattle. cheers, dave.

hi all, well i have started stripping down my mv 2.1. due to low oil pressure (0 when warm!) and also a knocking noise. havnt got to cleaning and measuring yet but would appreciate an opinion on the oil pump drive. there seems to be alot of play at contact point on the cam wheel (shiney wear marks o...

thanks for the quick replies and alot of use full info. i fitted a new cap and rotor and gave the cap a wiggle to make sure it was seated correctly and the dissy moved as the bolt was loose :roll: i will be setting with strobe light so just to confirm the notch on the pulley is tdc, and set to 5°±1°...

mv 2.1 timing
hi all, i need to set the timing on my recently purchased dualcab but i am unable to find the info. it is a 1990/1 with a 2.1 mv engine. any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers, dave.
