poor running on LPG
I have been running my 2L air cooled on LPG for years now. Always been very good. The thing is we have decided to get rid of our much loved T25 and buy a coach built, because the family are growing and we are expecting another in the spring, just not enough room. I know we are traitors! Soon after w...

Anyone know where I can find a list of the available outlets for autogas in Spain. I know they are few and far between, therefore, should be able to create a list? Been searching the net but not got much of any use. I have an overlay for autoroute for France and UK no problems there. I understand th...

carry
Yes that's the sort of thing. What I had in mind is something more like this: [img:256:208]http://i21.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/fa/15/50e4_1.JPG[/img] Much cheaper and easier to store when not in use. Not as secure I know. But is carrying your stuff in a box on the back a good thing? Is there any problem...

We solved the problem by just fitting a lap belt. After all, they aren't going to hit their head on the front seats are they!!

Bugger!! That's some backfire.
I bet that was it. It has been running like a bag of SH-1T for a few days, and there have been a couple of back fires.
I guess that is mystery solved.

carry that load
Yes I had considered a trailer, but, I didn't really want to pay the extra on the ferry. I figured with the "cargo back" I could dump the thing in the van through the side door. Da Daaagh!! Cheep ferry!!
Well maybe.

rumbly gearbox
For some years now I have been of the opinion that my gearbox has some worn bearings. As I have removed the unit in order to replace the spigot shaft bearing (amongst other things) I decided that some kind of overhaul was probably necessary. The symptoms are present when in neutral with the engine r...

strange thing
 I have been planning for some time to drop the engine and gearbox from my 2L air cooled for some overdue maintenance. I knew it needed a spigot shaft bearing and wanted to repair a few oil leaks and fit and oil temp gauge before we go away to Europe for the summer. It had been running rough ...

carry that load!
We are away to Spain for 4 weeks this summer. I know we don't need to take loads of stuff, but the two of us and two kids too there are many things to consider. I was thinking of getting one of these boxes you mount on the back, or maybe one of the bags (Fiamma cargo back) because they are cheaper. ...

sat nav experiance
I'm thinking of getting myself a sat-nav. I have limited experience; my dad has a Garmin one. It is good, reliable, cheap to buy and easy to use. I have found downloads for LPG refueling in this country but so far none for Europe. Last year I drove to Spain, and had downloaded files for Auto route w...

fast idle
You mention nothing of adjusting/setting the idle speed. I assume you are still running the twin solex carbs? If so the idle is not adjusted by the butterflies but by opening closing a screw at the rear of the LHand carb. I'll explain further if you need me to, as reading this back it doesn't sound ...

probe
Yes indeed the exhaust probe is very able to heat the gas, warm up is quick and I certainly have no issues with safety (though it doesn't strictly comply with the LPGA Cop 11). I certainly wouldn't countenance the fitting of complicated water filled heat exchanger system to what is a very basic and ...

Aircooled on gas
My air-cooled runs really well on gas. Very sweet and economical! I have quite an old fes conversion which takes heat from the exhaust directly by gas probe. There are some with water heat exchangers now and some that run from the oil system. I understand though that the oil ones take some tim...
