T25 Bumper Ends/Corners

Here's a good one - will the T25 bumper corners which are widely available, fit the old LT28, which are a little like hen's teeth? I'm having some trouble sourcing LT bumper ends even from Germany and am tempted to just get some T25 ones as they are so cheap and take a gamble they'll fit? Thanks in ...

Just goes to show it pays to do a bit of research before wading in and buying something. I haven't been on here properly for a bit and have only just checked this post - although I know that nothing has been directed specifically towards me, I would still like to speak in my own defence as to how I...

Help with determining new wheel stud lengths

I have Audi A3 wheels. Front ones are now machined to accommodate the wider hubs. I will plug the machine shop when the suckas are actually on the camper! I am sure someone on here will advise me at some point about how to get some centre caps to prevent them looking completely daft. The wheels are ...

Yeah, we tried SB 1st - my gf rang him yesterday afternoon (on recommendation from the guy who sold us them) with a view to him fitting them for us - he quoted her 'anywhere between £100 and £160' just to put them on the van, but then broke it to her that we needed them machining but did not recomme...

Machining out Audi wheels

I just bought some gorgeous 17" Audi wheels off someone off here I didn't do my research and didn't know the front ones would need machining. This wasn't explained to me by the seller. I do not want to return the wheels, as they are going to transform my van into something wicked! Does ANYONE k...

IVC is the name of the company/garage we are taking the van to - (Independent VW Centre) they are in Hunslet - not too far from where I work, which is Cross Green Thanks for the pop bottle idea - that's fantastic - in fact the van is in a good state right this second for me to try that out right now...

Winter Morning Aircooled Blues

Well, I'm starting to become blind to the virtues of the Westy now that the freezing cold weather is here. I have had to start using the camper for work seeing as it is too dangerous up here in Leeds to go out on the motorbike 'cos of the ice. Unfortunately, I have to go through the ritual every mor...

I got a car battery/alternator tester from Maplin recently for 5 quid, it helps to establish whether or not the alternator is charging the battery, so you know if the battery is knackered or if it's the alternator/dynamo. My leisure battery has been taking some real stick recenty since I got an inve...

Heh - just remembered Alan Partridge on that barge sticking a whole Dundee cake into the chemical toilet, coming back a few hours later, seeing the cake dissolved and saying 'this is handy if you've got elderly relatives on board'

Westy water level LED indicator

This is the small black panel thing with the LEDs on it that sits between the fridge and the cooker on my camper. The guy I bought my camper off couldn't even tell me what it was as it had never worked since he bought the camper! I have removed it and it has damage on the circuit board as if a coupl...

Just Kampers Munich 2 Awning HELP!

Hi just bought one of these nice looking awnings - however when we were about to attach it to the van we were stumped as to how you attach it to the gutter using the clamps provided, without them 'interfering' with the sliding door? The gap between the bottom of the gutter and the top of the door is...

Hi mate I used to work for the local authority in Merseyside and it's my experience that the powers that be are more interested in gripping people 'at it' (and gripping the associated headlines) than cleaning up after them. These tyres and chairs and God knows what else were actually about 15 metres...

Great rough spot

We just had a fantastic weekend - there was this splendid spot which you would not believe is only than 2 miles from Oldham! It was a three minute drive to any kind of civilization, but the spot really seemed to be in the middle of no-where - and if you can take the relentless flow of speed hungry m...
