Re: Big thanks to Roger

it comes with complete instructions on how to set it up which are very simple to follow.

So how about putting them on here - they could be added to the Wiki.

Re: Chrome hub caps

I was considering my options regarding wheels and have decided to just paint them and leave it at that. I can just see those caps being nicked!

Re: Fitting quarterlights

Right, i've taken out top and bottom screws. I have wound main window down all the way. There is a very little movement when trying to pull the thing out but i don't want to use too much force in this area. Do i pull the bar down and then work it out? Is there anything else i need to remove?

Re: Selecting gear stalling engine...

Yeah cheers matey, i've just got to negotiate the Mot now...

I would say there was a steady stream just piping up and out. Presumably, it would speed up the warmer it got. It put me in a great mood though - from non-runner to runner.

Re: Selecting gear stalling engine...

Had a another go at the van yesterday - i find it quite depressing and my motivation is shot! :( However, started her up (eventually - it seems to take an age for fuel to reach the carb, although once idling it's fine) put her in Drive and cut out. Started her up again (immediately, now warmish) and...

Bromyards do fully refurbished carbs which you exchanged for your old one

Have you got a link for them. Cannot find them on a web search.

Re: Cutting out on idle, why?

I had this problem (or similar) check it out here: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=81098

The vacuum pipe seemed fine when taken off but obviously wasn't as replacing it solved the problem. I didn't test it beforehand just ordered replacement off Brickwerks. At a tenner, if it didn't work, no probs.

Selecting gear stalling engine...

1986 auto 1.9 dg Hi, I have just sorted the braking stalling the engine but now need to solve why selecting gear does it too. (I may point out it did it before i solved the braking, so not related.) I've tried increasing the idle speed but it doesn't seem to make any difference - engine just dies. I...

Re: braking affecting idle?

Hi, instead of checking the pipe i just went ahead and changed it for the Brickwerks one (only a tenner). The old one seemed a bit crusty but still airtight. So i didn't have high hopes. However, it worked. Thanks for the help .

Have started a new thread on my next problem
