Forgot to add - Also up for any radical ideas, as it is a factory hard top it has walk through height throughout so you could do a bit more than your average van.

Re: 1.9 aaz problem
Ok chaps, it turns out that it was a loose connection on the fuel pump, have put a nice new shinny connector on and now runs like a dream.

Re: 1.9 aaz problem
Ok...I have checked the banjo and fitted a new fuel filter and it has almost stopped the problem, it is still doing it but not so often.
Thanks for your input, it makes it easier owning one of these with this forum.

Re: 1.9 aaz problem
Thanks for the replies.
The fuel filter was changed less than two months ago, have also tried draining it but nothing came out, for what it costs I'll try a new fuel filter.

When travelling 50 to 60 all of a sudden it would also lose power until I took my foot...

Re: Help! I just bought a Syncro
Thanks again for your comments Syncropaddy, here are some pictures of the whole van, let me know if you need photos of anything else. As I mentioned before there are two air vents towards the middle and rear seats. Jed the Spread, not too worried about return of investment as it would be something i...

Re: Help! I just bought a Syncro
Thanks for all your input, looks like I have a big project on my hands. I was under the impression that if the sills and jacking point needed doing that it was a massive job. Simon Baxter, I think it is a caravelle as it has the air/heater vents in the back and also a pair of 12v sockets. How do I t...

Help! I just bought a Syncro
Hello, I have just bought a 1987 Caravelle syncro 1.6td. I bought it blind on ebay as I couldn't get to see it (stupid I know). There is a fault with the head and some parts missing which I didn't mind too much as would go for a TDI conversion. The body work is in worse condition than I thought and ...

Re: Warm starting and cooling problem
It doesn't go straight up when you turn the key it goes up gradually as it warms up. When I was running it without the thermostat the gauge would sit at just below the LED. Pulling my hair out!

Re: Warm starting and cooling problem
I forgot to add regarding the temperature problem. I have replaced the radiator and water pump to try and rectify the temp but the gauge still goes up to the max, but the engine is not overheating, the gauge is reading wrong. I have also replaced the temp sender.
Any ideas?
Cheers
