Re: Adventure Overland - roll call

Thanks for letting me in amongst the Syncros...

Is it obvious where you lot will be when I get on site later today? As said above, can I just turn up and pay and come drive around till I find you?

Anyone meeting close to the show to get in as a group? I'm a total show newbie, sorry....

David.

Re: Adventure Overland Food theme

I'll be coming in empty 4x4 LT (apart from my blow up mattress!) I've got folding table/benches I can bring. Sits 3-4 each side of the table. Can also bring the big paella ring and cook up some risotto if anyone's up for that? E D I T: can also do Thai green chicken curry in large number. I'll be le...

Re: Adventure Overland - roll call

Any room for one more for Friday night camping? Sold the syncro last year so would be coming in the 4x4 LT.

Always wanted to go to this show but don't fancy camping on my jacks :(

Re: Lino and flooring options

Not cheap but seriously good quality/tough lino and loads of lovely colours. http://www.colourflooring.co.uk/collections/vinyl-flooring We went with white and still looks great after 3 years: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27791090/Inside1.JPG How thick is your base? If its not insulated or has...

Re: Fitting a headliner?

Correct. I used really thin neoprene fabric between rods/roof to a) stop it vibrating and b) keep it nicely wedged in.

Re: Fitting a headliner?

Doable if you have a lot of patience and a helping hand. Windscreen out and work your way from front to rear.

Don't rush it or you'll rip it..

I'm assuming you've got all the rods and plastic ends that go into the bodywork.

Re: F35 pro vs F45s

The legs on the awning should be able to give 5cm flex on either side so would shave thought you could use same fittings. That's what I did after I put awning on roof racks and they didn't like up exactly. Had no issues with them so far.

Re: Mouldy interior

Tea tree oil/water, white vinegar/water & hydrogen peroxide mix. All 3 work very well and will leave surfaces bacteria free. Just don't use bleach! And don't blend the 3 mixtures together. My favorite is tea tree oil/hot water as smells nice directly afterwards not overpowering in the long term....

Fitting tailgate badge - sounds simple?

Sounds like an easy job. That's what I thought anyway. I've got 2 issues when trying to do this: 1) the 3 pins on back of the badge only stick out of the holes about 3-4mm. Not enough for the clips to grab onto 2) even if I could sort out point 1, I can't find a way to get pliers or anything other t...

Re: Moving battery to front - cable size help

My concern was for the multiple fuel lines, joints, couplers, etc in the engine bay. That's where I reckon most petrol related fires originate, rarely from fuel tanks themselves as they are pretty solid and cleverly placed (even plastic Syncro ones). bought 35mm cable (certainly lolls up for the job...

Re: Moving battery to front - cable size help

Thanks for the tip with 35mm welding cable. Will check that out. Was diesel and now petrol (AGG/GTI) so worried about having battery amongst all that petrol if I ever get rear-ended. Would also give me room to fit a decent air filter box where battery is now. Not happy about losing space under the s...

Moving battery to front - cable size help

I'm moving battery from engine bay to front seats.

What size cable should I be using. I've got some 25mm which is rated at 170 amps available locally.

Would this suffice?

Electrics scare me and I don't want to get it wrong....

Re: Autocube cooker pod mystery solved

I'll get in touch with Sean and take it from there. I'm also looking at a different design. Would mean starting from scratch but feel I'd have a nicer, less 80's looking design. New design would be modular and from lighter materials. I'd like to work with the original patent holder as a first prefer...
