Re: Bleeding 1.9DG

Thanks ghost, I do however feel slightly embarrassed by this, I think the firing squad would be too good for me to tell the truth!! It's a fools mistake, but as you say I have cleared the engine of water. I pulled the drain plug on the water jacket and then I took all of the hoses out and squeezed o...

Re: Bleeding 1.9DG

I have 9 litres But I have a system full of frozen water to go with it. I have learned a major lesson today that having not enough anti freeze in these vehicles is playing with fire and plain stupid. I have just got back in from a 5 hour stint and my balls are like icycles! I still have been unable ...

Re: Headgasket or Oil cooler???

I tried mate but as I say the details were taken off immediatly by a mod as I had just put it out for offers. I'd only realised they'd done this about 3 days later at which point it needed to be off my drive as I had 2 cars and a van and the missuss wasn't happy!! I would have much rather seen it go...

Bleeding 1.9DG

Hi all, I need to bleed the coolant forom my 1.9dg. My haynes tells me to either undo the bleed plug from both water jackets or undo the lowest coolant hose. I know theres lots of info on this but a lot of it is conflicting. I 've looked on the wiki that says jack up and the haynes says no need. Pro...

Re: Headgasket or Oil cooler???

Such a shame, I scrapped a perfect full AAZ tdi golf mk 3 the other day, I advertised on here but it got taken off by the mods as it had no price, my fault I never read the rules It had 145k but was well serviced with a perfect engine and box with new clutch 10k ago, just wasn't worth me having tyre...

Slipping out of 1st.

Just thought i'd enquire as to a problem that I have had for some time now. On acceleration form standstill the van sometime slips out of 1st gear making a slight crunching sound. All other gears are fine and when in motion the gearbox is very smooth and works as it should. Hasn't really bothered me...

Re: Wont start!

im confused! I put a jerry can full of fuel in the van last night and there was no fuel on the floor, where is my fuel going!! When I say I cleared it i poked a wire through the hole on the fuel tank and could feel no blockage. I assumed that there was not enough fuel in there for it to come out of ...
