Re: HEATER PROBLEMS

HI Guys Thanks for the replies The temp guage is fine, it moves up to halfway which is the normal operating temp on my van, It's not overheated, however the other day I did notice that after I topped up with coolant and started the engine the temp guage went right up off the scale until I started to...

Re: HEATER PROBLEMS

Hi Guys Thamks for your replies. I have tried revving the engine this morning and it does blow warm, so I'm guessing this is an airlock. Is it possible to bleed the system on your own? I've had a go by revving the engine quite high and then running around and retightening the bleed bolt but i'm conc...

Re: HEATER PROBLEMS

Yes the blower works fine on all speeds. When the van is stationary with the engine running and up to working temperature, if you turn the heater blower on it only blows cold air not warm, no matter what settings the levers are on. As soon as you start driving it blows warm air. This is without alte...

Re: HEATER PROBLEMS

Hi Thanks for the reply, I should have made it a bit clearer, the engine is running all the time, when the vehicle is moving the heater blows warm and when the vehicle is stationary the heater blows cold. The cables all look ok and the flaps sound as if they are okay, if its an air lock whats the be...

HEATER PROBLEMS

Hi all, Been a while since I last posted on here so I hope everyone is well. Been having heater issues and i'm a little confused. When I run the vans engine (1.9 watercooled) and get it up to temperature then put on the heater blower it only blows cold air, no matter what the setting, until I start ...

Re: DEAD VAN

Now, I have to hold my hands up here and make a confession.......... I've been suffering from dead battery syndrome. The vans battery was flat so it wouldn't start the battery in my circuit tester was almost flat and sent the readings haywire. The van is now running or at least will be again once th...

Re: DEAD VAN

hI Van was running quite happily, then just stopped. Now will not turn over, as soon as you turn the ignition on it drops from 18v to 6v. It will not turn over and it doesn't even click. I have disconnected the live feed to the coil and that makes no difference as soon as you turn the key the voltag...

Re: EGT gauge

Hi
Sorry to show my ignorance, but what exactly do these gauges do?
I know they measure the temperature but what does this mean and can you alter the running temp?

Re: Bentley Manual

Hi again,
I've managed to download a manual that is just short of 1000 pages so I guess this is the right one.
Now I just have to go through and pick the relevent bits to print otherwise my printer is likely to experience a painful death.

Thanks to everyone who sent messages regarding this :ok :ok

Re: Van won't start

Hi all especially tinman I have now got the van running, it was a lack of fuel getting to the carb so after some gentle persuasion and dribbling petrol into the top of the carb she fired up. Just out of curiosity would the breather pipe that is near the filler perhaps contribute to this fuel starve ...

Re: Van won't start

Hi Sorry on nights at the minute so head isn't working as it should. It's a 1.9 petrol dg engine no mods. All i've tested is to see if there is a power supply to the coil, and i'm getting about 12 volts on one of the black wires and also the green(and white i think). I haven't got a helper at...
