Re: No Power To Coil

checking resistance on the brown/green at pump and in engine bay, showed nothing checking on the pump live and the bottom cable off the relais did show something layed a new ground cable from pump to engine bay ground point (12) I cant seem to find the T2a/1 & 2 connectors in the Engine bay left...

Re: Faulty bosch 0261200284 / vw 025906022d digifant i df1

this thread is following my diagnostics for the issue https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8312307#p8312307 In summary, bad ignition from fuse box to engine bay wire (Black) and then also yesterday bad ground from pump to engine bay ground (12), even though I cleaned that up recently, but gu...

Re: No Power To Coil

Yesterday I drove 150km and shortly before home, stopped for petrol, and then it wouldnt start, got towed home by a tow company, (240euros, but luckily was only around the corner). Relais were switching, but pump was still not priming. Tried to bridge from the battery directly to the pump, while on ...

D15 connection to the coil

I bridged that from the black Ignition cable directly and tested it for 12V to the engine bay, seems fine, so no need to lay a new cable

Re: No Power To Coil

I decided to replace the distributor to rule out the hall sender took the distributor off and put a new one in then nothing worked again 😬 but then after some research, I found out I didnt seat the bottom properly, so it wasnt turning the dizzy I put in the used one I already had now and then the mo...

Re: No Power To Coil

now it just started working again suddenly this morning  :ok all I did was take a spark plug out to have a look so then not the ECU, Hall sender could be a intermittant, I got a new one in the post this morning too (havent exchanged it yet tho) but that 1 cable from the ignition to the Ignition coil...

Re: No Power To Coil

Ive been posting in this thread quite a lot, https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8311353#p8311353 but would like to segway over here now (orignal SS replacemed with an MV, so with all electrics for SS) 1 year ago and suddenly again, I lose the priming of the fuel pump and idle stabiliser, w...

Re: Electric fuel pump wiring (Novice alert!)

so I figured out that the coil had no power and after following this thread  https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=164733 I just bridged the cable from the engine bay junction box (black cable and yellow connector) to the Black coming out of the ignition), it seems this is broken. now both th...

Re: Faulty bosch 0261200284 / vw 025906022d digifant i df1

Hi

I believe I also have an issue with the exact model described here. Most obvious ymptoms are that the Fuel pump & idle stabliser control valve do not initialise/prime before cranking the engine.

Im also looking for a replacement ECU and/or one diagnose

Thanks, Rich

Re: Electric fuel pump wiring (Novice alert!)

hmm I think after more research that the ECU is controlling all of this and that as long as the pump only primes for the 3 seconds (and not longer) at ignition, then this is fine

Re: Electric fuel pump wiring (Novice alert!)

and with the engine running there should be voltage across the pump? otherwise, all seems fine and working, just want to understand how the pump should run is that why the Fuel Pump relay (53) has the direct (with resistor) connection for the 85/86, to supply the fuel pump with a constant low voltag...

Re: Electric fuel pump wiring (Novice alert!)

yes it is a cheaper one, I see now, 50euros compared to over 100 for the Bosch one but should it continue to make noise when the engine is running, as the fuel under pressure is flowing through it, but not pumping itself, right? and I just figured out that its the idle speed control valve, which is ...

Re: Electric fuel pump wiring (Novice alert!)

still not reproduced the fault, but I thought I would replace my Fuel Pump and filter anyway. But new pump is very loud , making a gurgling sound occasionally (when the engine is running) does it take a while for the filter fill up and for it to run smoothly etc? When I disconnected the pipe from th...

Re: Electric fuel pump wiring (Novice alert!)

hmm, I did have issues at the starter recently too! Would result in nothing happening when turning the key, corroded connection here, will check again   https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/templates/subSilver/images/icon_minipost.gif Posted: Tue Feb 15, 2011 11:29 pm    Post subject: https://www.thesa...
