Re: Huge thanx for SP

A great effort again. Thanks for all the work to bring the weekend together. We were late attending, so didn't get enough time to talk to everyone, I'll do better next time. We had great time. The views from the new bit are stunning. I must remember to take all of the  'bits I'm saving'  off of the ...

Re: SyncroPendance 2021

A massive thanks to all those involved with the organisation of the event. I hadn’t been to a meeting for a good few years, and was so pleased to see old faces, and members I’ve not met before. A very nice couple of hours were spent playing and watching others in that mud hole. Thanks to Jake for th...

I fear that we will no longer be able to have a world without Covid so we are all going to have to come to terms with living with it. Keep each other safe my friends, you are a long time pushing up daisy's. Thanks for all the effort guys, I'm more than happy to comply with any safety rules put in pl...

Re: New Like / Love button on posts

I think its a good Idea. It may serve to underline where the main focus of interest, when discussing event planning. Quick and simple. Also, as a gauge of interest on posts that readers feel worthy of giving the 'like' when they enjoy the content of a post but feel unqualified to comment, or have be...

Re: Jx injection pump alignment

Hi mate I’ve just re-read your original post. Can I suggest that you don’t start your engine until you checked the crank nut These can work loose overtime causing chattering which eventually ends up in the bolt falling out of the end of the crank and catastrophic engine failure. I’m not trying to fr...

Re: Jx injection pump alignment

Method Using a machine shop straight edge or similar. Hold the straight edge firmly across both the suspect pulley and the cam pulley. You will be able to measure the amount of of miss-alignment by placing feeler-gages, vernier, or calliper at each side of the pulley that protrudes the least from th...

Re: Temperamental Starter Motor

I had this fault and you would first think of volt leakage. My fault was that the signal tab on the solenoid had not been made on to the field coil of the solenoid correctly in manufacture. This was a 'Brand New Bosch' TDi starter, which was a new addition to the van purely as an upgrade to pr...

Re: Engine only runs under too much advance

Have you checked your battery voltage static, running at 1500rpm and then at 4000? The reason is that if your alternator is failing due to brush wear, Its voltage performance will decline with revs/demand. Low voltage can have bizarre manifestations.  Good luck with it, flipping hate these sort of p...

If the line is level and given the vertical scrape lines above and below, it looks like its a "Bite mark' from a broken ring to me.

Re: Clutch Probs

I cant say about flywheel thickness, but in the bell housing there is a cross shaft which throws the thrust bearing. When the fork arms wear down you get a very shallow pedal. You don't notice this issue until you change the clutch. thats because a worn clutch assy will give a false high biting poin...

Re: Rear heater - confusion,,

hi mate On a German Army Radio van (DOKA type) i had, the night heater was underneath and positioned forward of centre between the central chassis rails. It was all boxed in and unidentifiable as a heater till you removed the tin work. when you twist that green knob Clockwise (i think) it should ill...

Re: VW T25 Single cab pickup AAZ Exhaust

There is not a 1.7JX mate If you have the 1.7 N/A silencer or the Petrol silencer, the silencer will need up sizing because as far as i know, the petrol boxes have baffles and the 1.7 N/A has a much smaller internal bore than required. The baffles/small pipe size will cause back pressure in the exha...

Re: Turbo conversion 1.6 jx

Just so you are aware, the oil squirters spoken of are to direct an oil jet onto the thrust side of the bore to aid heat dissipation and lubrication under the increased Power/heat output that the additional Fuel-Air mixture produces. This extra lubrication prevents the piston skirt from scuffing and...
