Re: What Oil?
I use single grade 30 (Morris) in the summer, and a 10/40 or 15/40 in the winter as it has a lower operating temperature. If you have a bentleys manual there is a useful chart that provides suggested oil to use in each temperature range. Don't know why people are saying stay away from morris oil, as...

Re: turning the key ..
I just had this problem. Check the connections to and from the solenoid and starter motor, and also check the earth strap from the gearbox to chassis. Do you have a remote starter switch in the engine bay? if so, try this and if it starts fine, then it could be the ignition switch (if you don't, i t...

Re: European Breakdown Cover?
I contacted Green Flag and they state the vehicle must be less than 16 years old, which rules out most T25's

Re: European Breakdown Cover?
Has anyone had recent dealings with ADAC who could possibly explain the deal, wether its annual or single trip cover, whether they recover the vehicle to the uk, roughly how much is it? etc. Any details would be greatly appreciated.

Re: European Breakdown Cover?
The best i have managed so far is with Britannia Rescue who quoted £101 for annual deluxe membership, which covers europe as well. they also offer personal cover for £29 extra which covers you and your partner in any car you are travelling in. May end up doing this if i cannot find cheaper single tr...

Re: European Breakdown Cover?
Thanks to all for the suggestions. Still no luck though. Footman James requires the breakdown cover to be taken at the start of an insurance policy. Brittany ferries, although a reasonable policy for breakdown, the ferries are alot higher priced than your standard dover-calais ferry. I havent been a...

European Breakdown Cover?
HI, does anyone know where i can get a month of european breakdown cover for my T25. I am insured with Adrian Flux, but they say i had to sign up for the breakdown cover when taking out the policy, which i stupidly didn't do, and i can't tag it on until my renewal date. I have tried the aa on the in...

Re: Trouble selecting gears!
cheers Jason, the van is a 1983 and as far as i am aware has original linkage. Is this an early or late type? I can check with the previous owner if he ever changed it.

Trouble selecting gears!
Hi, I have a 2l Aircooled, which has decided to develop a problem with the gears. This has steadily been getting worse. I am struggling to find the gears when driving. 1st and 2nd seem to right over to the left where reverse should be. It has got so bad that I find myself in reverse instead of 1st (...

Delay in firing when turning ignition
Hi, any help please. I have an Aircooled 2l van which has recently started having a problemwhen starting. When you turn the key there is a delay before the engine turns over. It fires up well when it does turn over, but thedelay is getting progressively worse (wasabout 1 second, now 2-3 sedonds). Can...

Re: Pop top cover thingy?
you can make them yourself if you are a bit handy with a sewing machine. Use the bubble wrap type aluminium insulation which you can get from most diy stores, cut to size to fit over the pop top, finish off the edges in some way (sewing webning round etc) and then a couple of eyelets (one in each co...

Re: Wind power! Any body know anything about it?
I have seen that you can fashion wind turbines out of the old type sturmey archer hubs and even the bottle type generators that used to fit to the back wheel of bikes and turn on the side of the tyre.
