Re: Westfalia high top rear hatch leak
Good news is you caught it before it got worse :-) As you found duct tape over the rear hatch does not help. I tried that and could see it coming in above that area. I also resealed the skylights to rule those out. I think you are on the right track thinking it is getting under the sealant on the s...

Re: Need to reduce boost as get-me-home 1z engine
Thanks for replies guys. Went for a short drive yesterday and looks like pulling the n75 electrical connector has helped. No vacuum connection on the pump with this engine and it looks like I need the n75 hoses connected or else wastegate stays shut giving me full boost and no protection from overbo...

Re: Oil change on AAZ
If dipstick can be checked through the number plate hatch it probably has been done and if it is a straight one that just comes out above the engine behind the alternator then you can't be sure. Best way is to drain completely , change your filter and add the 4.5 litres of oil. Run engine a bit and ...

Need to reduce boost as get-me-home 1z engine
On hols in France and all well until yesterday. Had the boost pipe to intercooler pop off seven times on our 300 km journey. On my conversion the pipe from turbo inlet side is connected to the black plastic pipe leading to the intercooler with a 2" piece of hose clamped with jubilee clips. Yest...

Re: Mains hook up and water filler covers needed
Can anyone point me in the right direction for replacement covers for a 1984 westfalia. I can only find the complete which are expensive when only covers needed. Not sure if you'll find the water filler cover if yours is the square one. I don't even think I've seen the cap/stopper for those. As for...

Re: Yellow flame out of gas ring
In case you didn't know and yours are stuck you can remove the top by twisting and pulling. Should be able to clean enough to get a clean flame then but make sure you dry first as any water stuck in the gaps will make problem worse. Soon dries though once the gas on http://i985.photobucket.com/album...

Re: Camping table & chair set - again
Rather than a matching set how about a decent table and cheapo chairs? I've had one of these for many years and it is still going strong. http://campervanculture.com/shop/cvc-light-weight-folding-aluminium-camping-table/ Came from Go Outdoors but looks identical to the Campervan Culture one. As for ...

Re: Check your fire extinguisher
Well me really!! I was replacing the 12 volt switch on the fridge and had to move the extinguisher 2007!! What type to buy? Thats quite new. Mine was the original German one from 1983! Replaced with a 1litre AFFF (foam) one rather than powder when my insurance said I needed an approved one. Reason ...

Re: Early LPG tank Vs newer?...
So my question... Also, how are you supposed to fill using the fittings with the bleed valve?) I have that one on my van. According to the label around the bleed valve it says in German to open valve while filling and stop filling when liquid comes out ! Not sure whether that is another thing ignor...

Re: Rad fan not switching off
Think it will just be the switch as if the fuse was gone it would not be coming on. Mine went same way with fan coming on on full speed one day when parked up with engine cold. Had to remove fuse to stop it. Until I got the new one fitted (5 min job) I was running without the fuse fitted. But able t...

Re: Can't change gear
You don't say what engine you have but on my diesel to get the starter out, I need to loosen off the bracket holding the clutch slave cylinder to the engine/bellhousing. Pretty sure from memory this is because they share a bolt. Check that area and if possible get someone to press the clutch pedal w...

Re: Need more Volts at the front of your bus?
Don't forget to wipe your headlights clean too :-) The other night could hardly see the road when looking for a right turning of a dual carriageway I know well. Problem was I just couldn''t see the right hand verge not helped by LHD. Stopped in a lay-by a bit further on after making my turn to check...

Re: Check your lights
On my T25 I have never had to change a headlight bulb in seven years of ownership and yes they still work. In my 2007 car I have to change each front bulb at least once a year with Osram bulbs. At least I can replace them in a few minutes now compared to the half hour it took the first time. I know ...
