Re: Oil Light and Buzzer
There was a good blopgpost about the different oil pressure switches with the description of the warning system on the Brickwerks page, cannot find it now, it seems like Simon removed it. There’s this on the web archive https://web.archive.org/web/20090214230734/http://brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpeci...

Re: Help - I'm going away tomorrow & my van wont start!
I'd suggest charging your battery up first. I would have thought it should run the hazards a lot longer than a couple of minutes. So if I was a betting man. that would be where my money was. Last comment too from Lillythefrenchie2026 is a good one. I have had a van where every now and again you n...

Re: Drive away awnings
Well I bought one of these back in 2010 soon after I got my first van. Was an Outwell one and was sold very cheap in the off season (about £120 new) as they advertised it as LHD only and with Spanish instructions which was fine for me as I have such a van. When it arrived it had English instructi...

Re: Door card clips keep popping out
Be interested to know if you find any as I have same problem on the rear side panel so hopefully by posting this I will get a message if someone has the answer.
I have a feeling the aftermarket ones are no where near as good as the original ones.

Re: Induction hob
One thing to think about is to check your pans are compatible for induction or else you may need a new set. Was just camping last week with someone who had bought one of these for use in their van to save on gas when on hookup. Our Tefal Frying pan worked OK but our oldish Tefal camping pots - the...

Re: New pads/bearings/disks - Grease cap exploded off. Regrease needed?
Hmmm - I have a feeling a lot of mechanics these days have no clue about setting endfloat on taper wheel bearings. I used to get MOT advisories every year on the fronts when I had set them myself with only just perceptible play. That's the same as I have always done since learning on Cortinas and V...

Re: Earth for EHU consumer unit
I'm not a sparkie so take my advice with lots of suspicion... But my thinking is your van is insulated from the earth by four rubber tyres. Your hookup cable has an earth terminal so I would make sure that is bonded to the body of the van. And make sure any breaker you fit has a double pole swi...

Re: Red oil warning light flashing
That does look cheap for what it is Previous owner of my van fitted a similar one but it is by VDO and has an analogue display. Those cost a lot more and the sender unit itself is more than twice your complete package is. See VDO sender . I have a diesel and this sender unit goes into the back...

Re: Red oil warning light flashing
If you go to top of the page and click on downloads. Then under the technical section click on the link for Electrics Instruments it should open the Bentley chapter for the instuments. Scroll down to page 90.22 and it will give you some info and a troubleshooting guide. I see that page mentions ...

Re: Temp gauge not. Working 1.9aaz LHD
What happens if you remove the yellow/red wire from the sensor on the engine and ground it?
Should make the gauge go high. If not like Aiden says it will be time for continuity tests.

Re: Red oil warning light flashing
Obvious suggestion (and one I used to sometimes see in my old van on bumpy roads) but is there a loose connection behind the dash? Your wired in PCB replacement should cut down on the chances of that though and living in France you won't come across as many potholes to shake it too much as we get ...

Re: Analogue clock completely dead
Well done - I did the same on my last van about 15 years ago. That one had a second hand that when the capacitors failed the hand seemed to go one second forward then one back. After the capacitors replaced it kept better time than the digital ones in two modern cars I had in that time.

Re: Gear selection out
Been having similar problems myself and in my case the culprit appears to be the oval shaped mounting for the gear lever bearing. One of the two bolts had gone awol so the mounting was free to rotate every now and again. Sometimes 1st and reverse difficult and other times 5th not wanting to play. As...
