Gurus of electrikery, help please
I have a problem with the temp gauge not working on my 1.6td It's not worked for a few weeks but has intermittantly worked for 10 mins a few days ago out of nowhere. I've tried earthing the gauge through relay 43 socket, needle does not move - the gauge itself must be working as it worked intermitta...

My temp gauage has stopped moving, shortly after an overheating episode. I've tried earthing the gauge as per the wiki, but the needle does not rise. however the coolant LED flashes as normal when the igntion is turned on. I called Brickwerks to see if the could supply a replacement gauge but they s...

replacement fuel gauge
Any ideas where I can find a replacement fuel gauge for my 1987 1.6td joker? Mine has stopped working, it does seem to the gauge rather than any other problem, were they standard on a few VAG cars..ie would one out of an old polo fit?

JX dipstick
Can someone confirm which are the correct marks on a 1.6TD dipstick, on mine there are 2 dots and also slightly further up a kink. I would assume the two dots are the filler marks and that's where I have been filling to but the oil light stays flashing until I blip the throttle which suggests to me ...

A couple of weeks ago I lost the water pump drive belt..didn't notice straight away  ..and when I switched the engine of and had a look it was very very hot, ie. the water in the expansion tank was boiling and it has p***ed out a load of coolant. Anyway I replaced the belt and serviced the eng...

Fridge
The Fridge on my 1987 Joker doesn't get very cold. It starts and runs ok and I can see the blue flame ok but doesn't seem to be getting cold enough. Any ideas? Does it just need servicing? Whats involved in servicing these fridges?

Re: Emergency!
Ok..done a bit of searching and looks like the belt is 10x650 and the water pump pulley is in two halves.
Any advice on locking the pulley while undoing the bolts?
E D I T just seen your post..will 10x650 be ok? that seems to be the size that Justkampers are selling

Re: Oh bugger.... looks like I'll be needing a new engine then?
At the end of the day it doesn't sound like something you'll be able to sort yourself and without seeing it we can guess all day on here. I'd expect a really worn engine to be using more oil than that so my gut feeling is it's a sortable problem rather than a new engine, but it could be a problem wi...
